One of our Club projects last week was a cute Wicked Cool Mini Lunch Sack that I CASEd from Amy O'Neill. I made a couple of versions as examples using the Wicked Cool stamp set and both sides of the Wicked Fun Specialty Paper. They are so much fun to make, and more fun to fill!
Can I tell you how much I love these convenient Mini Lunch Sacks? I do! Sure they may look like any old small brown paper bag, but there's more than meets the eye! First of all, the tops are pre-cut into a cute scallop shape that looks great folded over, or left unfolded and open. The bags are high-quality, too, and are even reinforced on the bottoms with a lightweight chipboard. No need to worry about the bottoms breaking out if you fill them to the top!
But the best part is how easy it is to make treat favors with them for any occasion! Kids' class parties, team events, Halloween or Christmas events, sleepovers, birthdays, showers, appreciation gifts…anything! Simply add some decorative paper, a stamped image and maybe some ribbon, and you're good to go!
Did you notice that my sacks are embossed with the Polka Dot Impressions Folder? My intention was to use the new Spider Web Impressions Folder for a spookier look, but alas, I ordered it late, and the UPS man ended up delivering it while I was a Stamp Club.
Look how cool it is with the web on it! I actually would have designed my project differently because I wouldn't have wanted to cover it up! Think of how easy it would be to add one stamped embellishment and be done! Oh, and the bonus is that even the inside piece of chipboard is embossed…that's the second picture above. Neat-O!
Embossing Tips: The sacks are longer than the embossing folders, so I pre-folded my top so it would fit. Also, because you are embossing the thicker bottom, do not use any Tabs on your Multipurpose Platform, they should both be open. Finally, if you notice that you are not getting an crisp embossing on the front where the bottom hits, try folding the bottom back to the other side (thanks to Annie for discovering this!).
