Celebrate real nice - two cool 

Every card maker looks for fun, new ways to create birthday cards and the Balloon Bash stamp set is an excellent new choice!  Today's card design is from one of the five projects from my February 12 Stamp-of-the-Month class, featuring the awesome Balloon Bash set.

Celebrate real nice - v

Background Basics—Each class kit will include, not only the Balloon Bash stamp set, but also a 1/2 pack of the fun & festive Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper.  It's a specialty pack, because two of the sheets include gold foil accents.  The background on this card is one of those fun patterns, and if you look closely, you can see that some of the floating balloons are in gold foil. 

My DSP background measures 4" x 5-1/4" and it's adhered to a Night of Navy card base.  I added a 1" x 5-1/4" strip of Calypso Coral card stock down the center for a nice foundation for my focal point.

Real Nice Focal Point—I stamped the image in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White card stock, then die-cut it with the Labels Collection Framelits.  The shape is popped up with Dimensionals.  I stamped the same image again in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White, then hand-cut the "celebrate" banner with my super-sharp Paper Snips.  I paper-pieced that banner right over the top for a eye-catching pop of color!

On my horizontal version, I cut the 5-1/4" x 4" DSP so that the balloons were still floating in the correct direction.  I love that this particular image will fit on the Labels Collection Framelits shape in both the vertical and horizontal ways!

Embossed Banner—This time, I stamped the image a second time in VersaMark clear ink, then embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder to match the gold foil accents in the background paper.  I absolutely LOVE how it turned out, and this is the actual card we'll be making at class!

Here's a better look at some of the shiny gold balloon images on the DSP.  I love that this card can be for both guys and gals of just about any age!  It's a very versatile stamp set and card design!  Fabulous!

Shiny Gold Balloon—I created a fun little gold balloon on the inside of the card to match the gold balloons in the DSP on front.  It's made by punching a Gold Foil sheet with the Small Oval Punch and the Owl Builder Punch.  I used one of the owl feet to make the balloon tie.  It's adhered over one of the balloon images from the set, stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.

Sweet Sentiment—TIP: The sentiment is part of another "HB" image from the set, but I actually cut these words apart from it to make it more versatile.  No reason why you can't…it's still sticks well to the block and it will nestle right back in place if you ever want to use the two original images together again.
