What an adorable and fun little card to make! I received the Mango Melody version of this card above as a swap from Julie Davison and I knew I had to share it with you! So cute and surprisingly easy to create! Be sure to watch the LIVE Class Replay at the bottom of this post to see it in action! Plus, I have a LIVE Class Kit available if you want to try making it at home! Details below!
Circle Fun-Fold Basics—This card begins with a 9-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at the 2-1/4" and 6-1/2" marks. I used the 2-1/4" circle punch to make the circle hole in the card. Simply come in from the long side, line up the first score line down the center of the circle punch, make sure your cardstock is all the way into the punch, then punch! That's really the hardest part! You could also use a Layering Circle die to create the circle…like I did on this Over The Moon cow card.
Lovely Layers—After the folding the card base on the score lines, I decorated the front of the card with different patterns of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Papers. The top flap has a 4" x 1" strip. The bottom flap has a 4" x 2-3/4" layer with a 4" x 1/2" strip across the bottom. I finished by tying on a 1/4" Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon.
Birthday Buddy—I stamped the Birthday Buddies koala body in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White cardstock, then added his face image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I also stamped the Mango Melody party had and Bermuda Bay pompom onto the Whisper White scrap, then die-cut all of those piece with the Bonanza dies. I popped up the pieces onto a 2" punched circle of Whisper White, then layered it onto a 2-1/4" punched circle of Terracotta Tile cardstock.
After adding the 4" x 4" Whisper White layer onto the inside of the card, I adhered this circle into the punched circle notch like a little puzzle piece.
Inside The Card—The inside of the card is even more fun than the outside! I punched two more koalas…with one peeking in from the side. You can make them have different expressions by changing the placement of the face. That one of the side sure has some personality! Then I added the balloon strings image in Memento Black with some balloons in Mango Melody, Terracotta Tile and Bermuda Bay ink. I finished with a Bonanza Buddies greeting.
When I adhere this layer onto the card, I like to add the SNAIL to the card base because of the circle hole that's behind it. If you add adhesive to the back of the Whisper White layer, you run the risk of the adhesive showing through the circle hole to the back of the card.
Sweet Sentiment Closure—I stamped the Bonanza Buddies sentiment in Memento Black onto Whisper White cardstock, then punched it out with 1-3/8" Circle Punch. Then, I realized that the 1-3/8" size is retired…so I recommend using the 1-1/2" size instead. I added Dimensionals on the bottom half of the circle and attached it to the bottom flap of the card with the card closed. I overlapped the top flap of the card just enough to keep it securely closed. I finished with a couple of Champagne Rhinestone Jewels.
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Bonanza Buddies stamp set and Bonanza dies together in a Bundle to save 10%.
Julie's Two Cool Card—This was the swap card that I received from Julie Davison. She punched the circle on the opposite side on a Mango Melody card base. She decorated it with the presents pattern of Birthday Bonanza DSP at the bottom and added a sentiment in Memento Black on the top flap.
Bonanza Buddy—Julie stamped the lion's body in Mango Melody ink and stamped his mane in Terracotta Tile. He has a cute little face image in Memento Black. So adorable!
Inside The Card—Julie stamped the sentiment on the inside with Memento Black, then added a 4" x 3/4" strip of Birthday Bonanza DSP to dress up the bottom.
Cute Closure—Julie's closure features a Bermuda Bay party had with a Mango Melody pompom and it's punched out with the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. She added a Champagne Rhinestone to the pompom.
