Broadway Bound Celebrate You Cards
What can be more elegant than black & white with gold accents? I love this stunning combination and the Broadway Bound DSP offers the perfect starting point…a pretty patterned background!

Background Basics—This card begins with a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White, layered onto a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Basic Black and mounted onto a Whisper White Thick cardstock base.
Next, I layered a 3-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of the Broadway Bound candle pattern Designer Series Paper onto a mat of 4" x 3" Basic Black. I tied some of the sleek new 1/8" Black Cord around the layer and tied it into a double-knot, then popped up the papers with Dimensionals.
Shining Celebration—I die-cut the sentiment from Gold Foil with the Celebrate You Thinlits, then adhered it to a 3-3/4" x 1-1/8" piece of Whisper White with Multipurpose Glue. It's mounted to a 4-1/4" x 1-1/4" strip of Basic Black cardstock banner that I fishtailed on one end with Paper Snips. That layer is popped up, as well.
TIP: You'll get the best results on your Gold Foil Celebrate die-cut if you use the Precision Base Plate in place of the bottom standard cutting plate. Not only will it come out of the die easier, but the foil on the word will less marred by the die.
Finishing Touches—Last, but not least, I added three shining gold Metallic Pearls. The gold and silver Metallic Pearls are some of my favorite new embellishments from the catalog! They really dress up a card like this so nicely!
Two Cool—For the second card, I tried out the polka dot pattern of Broadway Bound DSP. It features black, gold and Gray Granite dots, that look very much like silver. I opted for a darker background this time.
I embossed a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock with the new Striped Scallops Texture Impressions Folder, then adhered it to a Basic Black card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive for a secure hold. The DSP was matted onto a 4" x 3" piece of Gray Granite cardstock on this one.
Golden Accents—Instead of the Black Cord, I tried the new Gold Cord this time, tying it into a double-knot around the card front. I stuck with three gold Metallic Pearls like the original card.
Sweet Sentiment—The Whisper White banner measures 4-1/4" x 1-1/4", fishtailed on the end. Can you see the Striped Scallop background in this photo a little better? I love that new texture pattern, how about you?
