Well, what can I say…I'm in a CASEing mood lately. But, once again, I loved this card that I saw on Becky Roberts' Inking Idaho blog, and I just HAD to make one like it!
The birds and cages in the Aviary set are simply so fun to play with…mixing and matching colors! EEeeee! And, I got to use one of my favorite Designer Papers: Elegant Soireé! The Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Soft Suede make a lovely color combination.
The first card is almost an exact duplication of Becky's card, but I added a Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. The second card uses Chantilly Crochet Trim, rather than Satin Ribbon.
Both cards are decorated with a few Basic Pearls…I had to restrain myself from putting pearls all over the cages! I kept it down to three per card, and although I longed to add more (ooohhh, it was SO hard to resist!), I sided with simplicity.
The "happy birthday" sentiment, stamped in Early Espresso, is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. It's punched with the Word Window Punch, then layered on a Modern Label Punch.
Next up…projects from my October Stamp Club!
