Fancy Flora Horizontal Joy-Fold Cards

I took the classic Joy-Fold style card and put it on it's side for this pair of fun-fold cards. Again, I'm just in love with the awesome color combinations from this Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper! Love, love, love!

 

 

Background Basics—The two-part card base begins with a 5-1/2" x 6-1/2" piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock, scored along the 6-1/2" side at the 4-1/4" mark. I decorated the front panel with a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock, texture embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. The second part of the card base is a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock measuring 4" x 6" and scored at the 3" point. I adhered this mini-card to the center of the inside of the larger card base with SEAL Adhesive. The front of this piece is decorated with a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Fancy Flora DSP.

 

 

Terrific Tag—I die-cut a Basic White tag with the Something Fancy Dies and added one of the decorative topper dies to cut out the pretty leafy holes. Oooh, that's nice! I stamped the Something Fancy sentiment onto the tag in Orchid Oasis ink, then popped it up onto the card front.

 

Fabulous Flowers—I stamped the two Two Tone Flora blooms in Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis. Both the solid images and the detailed images are stamped in the same color. TIP: If your ink pad is well-inked, you may need to stamp-off for the solid image. Mine was a little dry on the Fresh Freesia one, so the first image was the perfect shade at full-strength. I used full strength on the Orchid Oasis one and probably should have stamped-off first on the solid image.

 

I also stamped a Soft Succulent leaf, then die-cut all of them with the coordinating Two Tone Flora dies. These die-cuts were added with a combination of Mini Dimensionals and SEAL Adhesive where they overlapped the label.

 

Finishing Touches—I tied some Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon with a double-knot around the top of the opening panel. I finished with a few sparkling Iridescent Rhinestones.

 

 

 

Inside The Card—Here's a peek at the inside of the card. I would add a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White for the message. Don't forget to stamp a bloom on that before adhering…pretty!

 

 

Two Cool—The larger base of this version is Balmy Blue, decorated with a textured strip of Pool Party. The smaller base is in Orchid Oasis and covered in a different painterly pattern from the Fancy Flora DSP. You'll earn supplies for this card with your 10-Card LIVE Class Kit.

 

Terrific Tag—This time, I die-cut the same tag and stamped it with a different Something Fancy sentiment in Orchid Oasis. 

 

Fun Flowers—The blooms are stamped in Pool Party and Balmy Blue, along with a Soft Sea Foam leaf. 

 

Finishing Touches—I didn't realize that the Soft Sea Foam Ribbon that I used on this card had retired…dang, I loved that ribbon! You could substitute with Pool Party Sheer Ribbon. I will have enough ribbon for the class kits! Those Iridescent Rhinestones match this card perfectly, too!
