Here are a couple of lovely little cards with unique double-flap openings that I CASEd from Chiaki Haverstick's StampingPro blog. The design of the card is interesting-to-open, yet simple-to-create, making it a fun workshop card. Plus, it gave me another excuse to use the French Foliage set!
I used Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Early Espresso and Old Olive inks for my collage layers. Then, I added Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon threaded onto a Brights Button. I tied a bow with Linen Thread over the taffeta knot. Linen Thread seems to be a popular way to dress up ribbon ties and buttons nowadays! Make sure you have some on hand, especially for Fall-themed cards.
For the middle flap, I stamped a sentiment (from Occasional Quotes and Dream Du Jour) with simple collage layers that were stamped off once.
Flap Dimensions: The Pumpkin Pie flap is 3-3/4" high by 4-1/2" wide, scored and folded at 1". The Old Olive flap is 3-1/4" high by 4-1/2" wide, also scored and folded at 1" from the opposite side. The Very Vanilla piece is adhered to a single-layer of Early Espresso (you could attach it to a standard card front for even more writing space).
I lightly stamped the inside by stamping off. I tried to line up the olive words on the inside with the olive words on the top flap for continuity. The edges are sponged with Pumpkin Pie.
