Friendly Seagulls More Than French Fries Card

O.M.G. The Friendly Seagulls Sale-a-Bration stamp set is cute and unique and so much fun! I received this adorable card from Natalie Travis in one of my swaps. (I featured another card from her yesterday…I think her style is Too Cool!) You will love CASEing this gift-card holder card idea!

Background Basics

Natalie started with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at the 3-1/4″ and 8-3/4″ marks. The card base is folded like a vertical gate-fold.

Natalie stamped some Friendly Seagulls flying bird silhouettes onto a 4″ x 3″ piece of Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper with Balmy Blue ink. It’s adhered to the top gate of the card base.

Gift Card Pocket

Natalie stamped the bottom gate fold with words from the Friendly Seagulls stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. She also added lots of little Friendly Seagulls pebbles images over the “sand” with Crumb Cake ink. She adhered the gate closed with Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the two sides only to create a pocket for a gift card.

Focal Point

She created the focal point on a Basic White Spotlight On Nature circle die-cut. Natalie stamped the seagull and fries in Memento Black ink, the flying birds in Balmy Blue ink and the pebbles in Crumb Cake. Then, she colored in the images with Stampin’ Blends Markers: Smoky Slate on the seagull wings, Pumpkin Pie for the beak and feet, Daffodil Delight for the fries, Real Red for the fry box and Pecan Pie for the hamburger on the box. The circle is popped up onto the top gate with Dimensionals, so that it hangs over the bottom gate.

I LOVE how she added a yellow Shiny Sequins to the sky to be the “sun.” Very clever!

Inside The Card

Here’s a view of the gift card pocket. Wouldn’t it be perfect to fill with a McDonald’s gift card? You could add a 3″ x 4″ piece of Basic White for a message area.

Friendly Seagulls Hey, Friend Card

Michelle Therialt created this super-sweet Friendly Seagulls swap card. I adore it!

Background Basics

She started with a traditional Wild Wheat card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next she embossed a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Boho Blue cardstock with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. She layered that onto a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, then mounted the layers onto the card front.

Card Front Décor

Michelle created a fun circle collage using Stylish Shapes Dies and the Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper. The two Basic White circles were stamped with Friendly Seagulls images in Memento Black ink. She added Stampin’ Blends Markers coloring to the images: Boho Blue for the seagull and fry box, Wild Wheat to the fries, beak, feet and hamburger bun and Mossy Meadow to the burger.

The DSP circles are adhered with SEAL Adhesive and the stamped circles are popped up with Dimensionals.

Inside The Card

Michelle stamped the rest of the sentiment and some fries on the inside in Memento Black ink, then colored it similarly to the images on the front. Oh my! Fun, fun, fun!
