Making Lemonade & Sweet Citrus Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today is technically the last day to earn my 5-Card or 10-Card By The Bay LIVE Class and I'm trying to make lemons out of lemonade! Because the Seaside Bay Dies are currently unavailable, I am making up a limited number of extra kits that I'm planning on having available once the dies are in stock again, around March 27. If you are interested in ordering later to earn either the 5-Card or 10-Card Kit, let me know now and I'll hold one of these kits for you. All extra kits will be available on a first come, first served basis; while supplies last. Email me here to request a hold.

If you're in need of the Seaside Bay Dies to complete my class, here are the options:

Sweet Citrus Sending A Big Squeeze Card

I never knew how much I would love the Sweet Citrus Bundle until I started seeing some delightful swap cards with it! Here's one by Natalie Travis that showcases some of the versatility of the bundle, which includes the stamp set, dies and hybrid embossing folder that works with the dies. So cool!

Background Basics—Natalie started by embossing a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mango Melody cardstock with the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder and mounting it onto a Granny Apple Green card base. Next she stamped the outer orange ring in Mango Melody ink onto Basic White cardstock. She added the orange slices images in Pale Papaya ink to the inside of the orange rind.

Hybrid Embossing—Now technically, a Hybrid Embossing Folder allows you emboss AND die-cut at the same time. I've found that, even though it saves a step, I like the control of doing the steps separately. So to create Natalie's embossed and die-cut orange, I would align the image with the coordinating image on the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder and run that through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I would position the Sweet Citrus die over the image and run it through again to cut it out.

She adhered it onto the card front with SEAL Adhesive, positioned over the same element that was embossed on the textured background. She gave the orange a little sparkle with a Rhinestone.

Sweet Sentiment—Natalie stamped a Sweet Citrus sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink onto a Basic White Something Fancy die-cut label. She stamped some leaves in Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock, die-cut those and adhered them over the orange. The label was then popped up over the top with Dimensionals. So easy and super-sweet!

Sweet Citrus Sweeter Things Card

Oooh…this cute card created by Monica Giberti shows even more of the versatility of this fruity set!

Background Basics—Monica stamped the two-step full orange slice, the cut orange and the lemon shape randomly all over the Mango Melody card base with Pumpkin Pie ink. Next, she created a focal point foundation with a 4" x 2-1/2" Basic White piece embossed with the Sweet Citrus Folder. It's layered over a 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Old Olive that has been distressed on the edges. I love the off-set positioning of these layers and that she mounted them lower on the card front so you could really see the citrus images on the background.

Citrus Collage—Next, Monica embossed some Daffodil Delight lemon images with the hybrid folder, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. They are attached with Dimensionals. Next, she stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink onto Basic White, die-cut those and tucked them under the lemons with Glue Dots. She added a Linen Thread bow with a Glue Dot, too.

Sweet Sentiment—Monica stamped the Sweet Citrus sentiment in Old Olive ink onto a 3-3/4" x 5/8" strip of Basic White cardstock, trimmed the ends at a diagonal and popped that up over the lemons.

Finishing Touches—She finished by stamping the flower in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, die-cutting it and popping it up with a Dimensional. Monica finished by adding a large Pearl Jewel in the center of the flower. All those layers and textures make this card absolutely darling!
