I created this “album fold” style card to highlight both the beautiful Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper and to spotlight a coloring technique that mimicked the look of the DSP.

I started with a traditional 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at the 3″ and 4-1/4″ marks. I folded the card and burnished back the front of the card, then adhered the space between the two folds onto the back of the card. This creates the look of a “spine” of a photo album.

Next, I added a 1″ x 5-1/4″ strip of my favorite pattern from the Mixed Media Florals DSP down the spine. I adhered a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of coordinating DSP onto the card front opening.

I stamped the Mixed Florals large flower image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock, then colored in the image with Stampin’ Blends Markers. To make it look similar to the flowers on the DSP, I colored the image sparingly, leaving white space around the edges and in random areas. If you are like me, I have a difficult time NOT coloring in the lines and up to the lines! It’s hard to pull back when I’m used to coloring the whole thing.

For the flowers I started with Light Pretty In Pink, then added Dark Calypso Coral, blending with Dark Pretty In Pink for a splotchy, watercolor look. I added Lemon Lolly for the flower centers. I used Light Mossy Meadow for the stems and leaves. The small flowers were colored with Light Boho Blue with a little Dark Boho Blue dot in the center.

I die-cut the image with the coordinating Mixed Florals Dies and popped it up with a lot of Dimensionals.

I stamped a Mixed Labels sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a Basic White Mixed Labels die-cut label. I also die-cut a Mossy Meadow banner, then snipped off just the tail ends and adhered them to the back of the sentiment label with SEAL Adhesive. I popped the whole element with more Dimensionals.

I added a few gold Low-Profile Dots around the flowers for a shiny finish. Lovely!

I stamped more Mixed Florals images onto the 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White inside layer. Those were colored with Boho Blue for the flowers and Light Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

I’ve never been sure of what this style of fun fold is, but it is certainly a favorite of mine and so easy to do!

I created a vertically cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ Poppy Parade card, then trimmed off a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece from the end to create the focal point mat. I embossed a 2″ x 4″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder and adhered that to the short card front flap. I also added a strip of Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon around the flap, securing the ends with SEAL on the front, which will be hidden by the focal point.

Next, I layered a 4″ x 3″ piece of Mixed Media Florals DSP onto the mat layer and popped it up onto the shortened card front.

I stamped the Mixed Labels sentiment in Memento Black onto a Basic White Mixed Labels die-cut. I also stamped the banner image in Memento Black ink onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock and die-cut it. To make it look longer, I cut the banner in half and positioned the ends farther apart, attaching them with SEAL to the card front. I popped up the sentiment label over the top.

Next, I stamped the Mixed Florals leaf image in Memento Black onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock and die-cut it with the coordinating die. I used Sponge Daubers to add a little Garden Green and Shaded Spruce ink randomly over the leaves to make them look like the DSP leaves. The element is adhered with a combination of SEAL and Mini Dimensionals.

I added a little Wink of Stella glimmer to the banner to make it sparkle.I added a couple of black Sparkle Gems to the sentiment to coordinate with the check ribbon. Cute, cute, cute!

I stamped the Mixed Florals leaves in Memento Black onto a 4″ x 3″ piece of Basic White cardstock and colored it with Old Olive and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, leaving bits of white around the edges. Too Cool!
