Mixed Metallics Leaf Wreath Card
I saw this beautiful mixed metallics card, originally created by Mary Fish, and I knew I had to CASE it! While it's certainly not a card that is easy to mail, it is perfect for hand-delivery, and it's so gorgeous in real life! Shiny, glitter and oh, so elegant!
Background Basics—I stamped the Hearts Come Home sentiment in VersaMark ink onto the bottom of a 3-3/4" x 5" Whisper White piece, then heat-embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I layered it onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Copper Foil, then tied a White/Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the layers and tied it into a double-knot. It's layered onto a Whisper White Thick card stock base.
Leaf Wreath—The wreath is created with 16 Leaf Punch shapes: four each of Gold Foil, Copper Foil, Silver Foil and Gold Glimmer punches. TIP: If you're really efficient, you can punch your Copper Foil leaves from the background Copper Foil layer before adhering it to the embossed layer.
I used my Bone Folder to gently curve each of the leaves. Using Glue Dots, I started by positioning the Gold Foil Leaves at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 "clock" positions to provide a symmetrical starting point for the wreath. The stems are all pointing "clockwise" around the circle. Then, I layered the other leaves, alternating the different metals. Talk about a special, and very fancy, holiday card!

Janet's Golden Christmas Quilt Card
Janet Shinn used a very similar card layout for her awesome golden card!
Background Basics—Janet stamped the Christmas Quilt greeting in VersaMark onto the bottom of a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" Whisper White card stock, then heat-embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. It's mounted onto a 4" x 5-1/4" Gold Foil, then tied with a 1/8" Gold Ribbon before adhering it to a Whisper White Thick cardstock.
Quilted Star—Janet used the Quilt Builder Framelits to create the quilt pattern star. She embossed a 3×3" piece of Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper and a 3×3" piece of Gold Foil with the Quilt Top embossing folder first. Next, she die-cut both pieces with the Quilt Builder dies. Then, she reconstructed the pieces onto a 3×3" piece of Whisper White to re-create the star shape. She could use the remaining pieces to create another opposite version, too! Janet matted the quilted layer onto a Gold Foil scallop square die-cut with the Layering Squares Framelits, and popped it up with Dimensionals.
