Good gravy! I don't seem to be getting nearly enough stamping time in these past few weeks…too many other non-stamping projects going on at the moment. Isn't it always the case?!
It's a good thing I know some very creative people, who are willing to let me share their creations, so I can have something to post about! I'm such a slacker!
I'm hoping to be able to get back into my stamping room again soon, but until then, I have some awesome boxes and flowers to show you!
All of the projects I'm showing today were created by my friend Peggy Tassler.
At our Stamp Club event last week, Peggy showed us several boxes, each showcasing a beautiful paper-sculpted flower on the top.
All-In-One Box With Lilies
The first box at the right is an All-In-One Box, which is created from one sheet of card stock. She topped it off with a lovely Punched Paper Lily, that was created with the Large Oval Punch. You can find a video tutorial for creating the flower at Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds blog.
Explosion Box With Rose
The next box is an cool version of an Explosion Box—when you take the lid off, it falls open into a mini scrapbook! There are several different varieties of Explosion Boxes out there, but I love that this one is so simple to measure and put together. It's Too Cool! I'm thinking this may have to be a Stamp Club project at some
point!
Basic Box Instructions: It's made from one sheet of 12×12" card stock that's scored along both sides at the 4" and 8" marks, then cut on the 8" mark to the center square. Just fold sides up and overlap the flaps to create the sides of the box.
The lid looks like a 6×6" square, scored 1" in along all sides. Slice the top and bottom of the piece at the 1" and 5" marks to the score line, then adhere the flaps to the sides.
Can you tell what the paper rose is made out of? It's the Ornament Punch! It's so pretty! Peggy even made leaves by folding the punch in half and running it through the Crimper! Nicely done! Here's a tutorial on how to assemble your Ornament Punch Rose.
Peggy adorned another Explosion Box with a Scallop Circle Carnation! You should feel how soft this flower is—like velvet! Learn how to make them at Lynn Larson's blog: Learn To Stamp & Scrap.
Lynn shows you how to punch three Scallop Circle punches, run them through the Crimper to loosen up the fibers, then pull the card stock layers apart. You'll then have six fuzzy sheets to layer together for one small carnation. I think Peggy used a Boho Blossom flower wrapped in a cone shape to form the base of the carnation (is that right, Peggy?). Her box shows three small carnations bunched together to create a larger flower. Love it!
Thanks so much for letting me share your beautiful boxes and paper flowers, Peggy!
More guest projects coming tomorrow!
