Rise & Shine with Flowering Foils Background Cards
The Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is very elegant all by itself, but I'm loving adding color to it! For this card, I used a direct-to-paper technique with the ink pad to alter the checked pattern for a trendy and pretty background.
Background Basics—I started with a 3" x 4-1/2" piece of Flower Foils checked paper and I literally smooshed the Pool Party ink pad directly onto the paper. Do not drag the ink pad, or you risk damaging the foam on your ink pad…simply twist and smoosh! The foil pattern with resist the ink, so you'll need to wipe away any excess with a tissue.
I adhered the DSP onto a Pretty Peacock card base. You can earn the NEW Flowering Foils DSP with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration, while supplies last thru March 31, 2020.
Cute Coffee Cup—Next, I stamped the coffee cup from the Rise & Shine stamp in Pretty Peacock onto a Whisper White Stitched So Sweetly die-cut. This cool stamp set is another NEW selection from 2nd Release, and you can earn it for FREE with a $100 order! I added some Gray Granite steam above the cup. The tag image was stamped in Terracotta Tile and die-cut with the Cup of Cheer dies that have carried over from the Holiday Catalog. I added it with SNAIL, then topped it with a Copper Trim bow attached with a Glue Dot. I popped up this layer with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Rise & Shine sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto a 2" x 3/4" piece of Pool Party. It's mounted onto the card front with a little SNAIL and a Dimensional. I finished with a single Gray Granite Basic Adhesive Backed Sequin.
Two Cool—For my second card, I did a horizontal card with a Merry Merlot card base. This time, I chose the silver floral pattern of Flowering Foils, measuring 5-1/2" x 2", and colored it with Rococo Rose ink. I tied some Braided Linen Trim around the card base and frayed the ends.
Coffee Cup—The cup is stamped in Merry Merlot with Gray Granite for the tag and steam.
Sweet Sentiment—The 3-1/4" x 5/8" piece of Rococo Rose cardstock is stamped with a Rise & Shine greeting in Merry Merlot, banner cut on one end and popped up. I added a couple of sequins under the DSP for balance. What do you think?
