Magical Meadow Photo Album Style Cards
I’m not sure what this card layout is call, but I call it a photo album card. It’s not really a photo album, but it has a cool faux-binding that reminds me of the old photo albums. I’ve also heard of this style of card called a book binding card or a book spine card. Whatever you call it, it’s fun to create!
Background Basics
This card begins with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock that’s scored at the 4-1/4″ and 5-1/2″ marks. I adhered the space between the score lines to the inside of the card with SEAL Adhesive.
I adhered a 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper onto a 4″ x 4″ piece of Basic Gray cardstock and mounted it onto the card front. Next, I decorated the “spine” of the card front with a 1″ x 4″ piece of Basic Gray cardstock that’s been embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. I tied some White Iridescent Ribbon around the spine, into a double-knot with trimmed ends.
Sweet Sentiment
I stamped a Magical Meadow sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes circle die-cut. I also die-cut a Basic White sprig with the Magical Meadow Dies, cut it in half and adhered them onto the back of the circle. I popped it all up onto a Night of Navy Handmade Tag punched shape, then adhered it to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.
Finishing Touches
I finished by adding a few Iridescent Pearl Jewels around the sentiment. OOohh…it’s so wintery! LOVE!
Two Cool
The second version begins with a Basic Gray card base and a different Magical Meadow DSP pattern layered onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The Cherry Cobbler strip on the spine is embossed with the Fern Embossing Folder. I wrapped it with the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon…it’s so classy & elegant looking!
Focal Point
The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and layered onto a Basic Gray punch this time. I positioned the focal point in a different place to allow the deer to be seen better. I finished with a few Rhinestone Jewels.
Inside The Card
I stamped a coordinating sentiment in Cherry Cobbler onto a 4″ x 4″ Basic White piece for the inside of the card. I also stamped the small trees image in Basic Gray to match the front. Nice!
