Hi Stamping Friends!
I want to thank everyone who came out to the "Last Thursdays" card class last night! I had a great time stamping with Mary K, Michelle V, Pam V, Angie L, Anne H, and Rita B! It was so much fun to see my stamping friends pick out their FREE Sale-A-Bration items—decisions, decisions, decisions! I think everyone picked out different things…that must mean there's a good selection this year!
Sale-A-Bration Kick-Off Party—8 cards featuring Sale-A-Bration items!
Speaking of Sale-A-Bration, I'm crossing my fingers that our rescheduled Sale-A-Bration Kick-Off Party doesn't get postponed again tomorrow. We are supposed to be gettng either rain or a wintery mix. We'll see what happens. I still have two spots left if you want to join us tomorrow at 1pm (hopefully!).

We'll be creating this fun & festive card at tomorrow's Kick-Off Party! It highlights FIVE of the Sale-A-Bration selections including the See Ya Later stamp set, Banner Blast stamp set, Banner Punch, Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper and Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. Plus, we'll get to use a few new tools from the Spring Catalog, too!
Sweet Sorbet Paper—I started decorating the Pool Paty card base with 4" x 2" piece of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. This dark, bold pattern looks kind of wild on a full 12×12" sheet, but used in small pieces adds a beautiful and color-coordinated contrast. I absolutely ADORE the papers in this pack!
The Sweet Sorbet DSP color combo is perfect for Spring: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black and Whisper White.
Fringe Accent—Instead of using ribbon at the paper seam, I created a textured border with more of the Sweet Sorbet paper. I started with a 4" x 3/4" piece and used the Fringe Scissors to make the cool fringe. Cut about half way through the paper…and be careful not to cut it all the way! (I did this twice—oops!)
TIP: Make your cuts using the middle of the scissors blades, don't use the tips. The tips are blunt and will cause your fringe to tear and bend in very unpleasing ways.
Scalloped Texture—I used my new Scallops Texture Impressions Folder to add some pretty scallop patterns to the 4" x 3-1/4" Pistachio Pudding panel, then had that overlap the top part of the fringe.
Sentiment—The See Ya Later greeting was stamped in StazOn Black, then punched with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and popped up with Dimensionals. A trio of Rhinestones accent the bottom.
Mini Banners—My favorite part is the adorable mini banners from Banner Blast! I stamped them in Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit, then punched them out with the Banner Punch.
I tied a small piece of the Crisp Cantaloupe Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack on both ends then adhered it to the corner using two Glue Dots. The banners are popped up with Dimensionals over the top. TIP: I kind of pulled the twine down as I adhered the banners, so it looks like it's more attached to the string.
Look at all of the cute banner patterns you can choose from! The accesory pack comes with cool, die-cut cork accents and three colors of twine that are nearly twice as thick as the Baker's Twine.
I moved the fringe to the outer edge on my horizontal version to give it some balance.
