Trusty Tools Mini Class Sneak Peek!

Earn Trusty Tools Mini Class Kit with Host Code 7TXWDTW7!

There are less than 3 days left of the 2024 Sale-a-Bration promotion, can you believe it? I couldn’t end Sale-a-Bration without playing with the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper! It coordinates with the Trusty Toolbox Bundle in the Mini Catalog. I created a few cards and decided to offer a 3-Card Mini Class, so you could try it out, too!

I’ll be sharing my Trusty Tools Mini Class LIVE tonight on my Too Cool Stamping Facebook page at 7pm ET. I have all the details for how to earn the kit below. You won’t need the Trusty Toolbox DSP to complete your class cards, but I know you’re going to want your own pack, so be sure to earn it before the end of February!

Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek card from tonight’s class, as well as another cool Trusty Toolbox card from a fellow demo. See you tonight on Facebook (or you can watch the replay).

I’m always in need of more masculine cards, so I was excited to see the Trusty Tools and coordinating Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Papers for masculine birthdays, thank yous and Father’s Day projects. The stamps, dies and papers work so well together for the cool look of a workbench or tool box.

Remember the Trusty Toolbox DSP is only available thru February 29, so don’t wait to order if you want to earn that to make additional projects!

My first sneak peek card begins with a 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ Pebbled Path card base that’s scored at the 3-1/4″ mark. I adhered a 3″ x 4″ piece of Trusty Toolbox DSP to the top of the card front and added another 3″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Trusty Toolbox DSP immediately underneath it.

On the inside 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White writing panel, I adhered a 1″ x 5-1/4″ pattern that looks like a measuring tape along the outer edge that shows to the front with the card closed.

I die-cut a Basic White Stylish Shapes circle and stamped a Trusty Tools sentiment onto it in Lost Lagoon ink. I layered that onto a Pebbled Path Deckled Circle die-cut and adhered it to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.

I love all of the options there are in this collection for creating assortments of tools! You can die-cut or fussy-cut pre-printed tools from the DSP. You can stamp some tool images and color them in with more “fill” stamps or with Stampin’ Blends Markers. You can die-cut still more tools or tool parts, like the top of the hammer, to combine with colored images. So many possibilities here!

I chose to die-cut a Gray Granite wrench and adhere that to the circle first. Then, I stamped the hammer and measuring tape images in Memento Tuxedo Black. The hammer handle was stamped in Crushed Curry ink and the measuring tape front was stamped in Lost Lagoon ink. I colored the head of the hammer and side of the measuring tape with Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Markers. Then I colored the measuring tape circle and tape with Dark Daffodil Delight Blends. Both images were die-cut with the Trusty Tools Dies and popped up with Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals. I finished by stamping the screws and nut image in Gray Granite to fill in the blank spot.

I tried to find an embellishment that was a little more “manly” than sparkly and came up with the Brushed Metallic Dots. Perfect!

I finished the inside of the card with a Trusty Tools greeting in Lost Lagoon ink and more little screws and nut in Gray Granite. I added a wrench stamped in Memento Black and colored with a stamped Gray Granite handle and Blends Markers colored Gray Granite head.

This fun Trusty Toolbox card was created by Sarah Schueler. She utilized the Trusty Toolbox DSP for the tools for a quick and easy focal point!

Sarah’s card starts with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Trusty Toolbox DSP covering the front of a Lost Lagoon card base. Next, she die-cut a Basic White Everyday Details circle and trimmed off a side, so it would sit flush against the edge. She added a 3/4″ wide strip of Real Red cardstock behind the circle before adhering the layers onto the card front.

All of the tools featured come directly from the Trusty Toolbox DSP. Talk about fast! You can’t beat using those awesome pre-printed tools! Looks like she may have die-cut the wrench and fussy-cut the drill and pliers. The wrench and pliers are popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

Sarah stamped a Heartfelt Hellos greeting (also a Sale-a-Bration item) onto a 1/2″ strip of Basic White, trimmed the ends and adhered that over the tool collage. She finished with Classic Matte Dots in gray on each side of the greeting, as well as on the hinge of the pliers…so clever!
