Turtle Friends Hello Little One Card

I love combining the large and small turtles from the Turtle Friends Bundle for an adorable "welcome baby" or "happy birthday" card for a young child. So super-cute!

Background Basics—I began with a 5-1/2" x 7-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at the 4-1/4" mark. Next, I embossed a 5-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Granny Apple Green with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder to give the panel a turtle shell look. I tied some Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the card front for a little more texture.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a Turtle Friends sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the bottom of a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Pool Party. It's adhered to a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White, then mounted inside the card.

Two Turtles Focal Point—I stamped the Turtle Friends sentiment at the top left of a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White in Memento Black, then stamped the little turtle outline in black at the bottom right. I colored in his body with Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Blends Markers. I stamped the large turtle in Memento Black onto scrap Basic White, and colored it the same way. For the shells, I stamped the turtle outline images in Memento Black onto scrap Soft Sea Foam cardstock, then stamped the shell pattern in Granny Apple Green on the inside. I hand-cut the shell and paper-pieced it onto the original turtle image. I finished by popping the large turtle with Dimensionals, adding the hearts in Real Red ink and matting it onto a 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock. It's mounted onto the card front with more Dimensionals.

Optional Shimmer—I didn't do it on this card, but Wink of Stella shimmer would look amazing on the shell pattern and hearts…just sayin'!

Free As A Bird Thank You Card

For my second card, I selected a completely different stamp set and created a card using the same card layout. It's an example of how fun it is to find a card you like and CASE (Copy And Share Everything) with a different stamp set and in a different combination of colors.

Two Cool—This card base begins with Calypso Coral with a layer of Painted Texture embossed texture. It's tied with Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon. The inside of the card has a Pale Papaya layer with a sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set, stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Beautiful Birdies—I stamped the Free As A Bird branch of birds in Soft Suede ink, then colored in the image with Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Soft Suede Blends Markers. The coordinating Free As A Bird sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and it's layered onto Soft Suede cardstock. Ohh…I love how this one turned out!
