Joy box - 1.5

Basic Box—The 4" x 4" Joy Box is an example of the largest box that you can make with the Gift Box Punch Board.  I used the naturally rich color of the heavyweight Kraft Cardstock.  Did you know about this card stock?  It's new to the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog and easy to miss.  You get twelve 12" x 12" sheets per package for only $5.95.  The sheets are heavier than traditional card stock, making them perfect for creating sturdy boxes!  And, the neutral kraft color makes a wonderful basic box for decorating!

Joy box - 2

Joy Décor—I had lots of leftover paper from last year's Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack, so I used 3-3/4" x 3" pieces to cover all four sides of the box.  The "joy" embellishment is die-cut with the new Wonderful Wreath Framelits from Gold Foil paper.

TIP: The delicate Gold Foil can be a little tricky to get out of the framelit.  I use a sheet of wax paper between the card stock and framelit to help the die-cut release better.  You'll still have to poke through the framelit holes with a Paper Piercer to help it along, but it works much better with wax.

The foil is adhered with dots of Multipurpose Glue onto a Cherry Cobbler Labels Collection Framelit die-cut and popped up with Dimensionals.

Joy box - 3

Ribbon Trim—I wrapped up the box with the elegant Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon in a double-knot that is loose enough to slip off of the box for easy opening.

Merry Tag—I colored the Merry Everything stamp with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake markers, then stamped onto Whisper White card stock.  It's punched with the coordinating Note Tag Punch.  I threaded the tag with some 1/8" Gold Taffeta Ribbon and tied it to the Cherry Cobbler ribbon.

Bag in a box - 1

Here's another fun 2-1/2" x 4" box created with the Gift Box Punch Board.  This time, I used the new Under The Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is also heavyweight and designed for box making!

Bag Tag—I left the box open so I could fill it with yummy treats inside a food-safe, Gusseted Cellophane Bag.  The bag is tied with Crumb Cake Seam Binding, then adorned with a Garden Green Chalk Talk die-cut tag shape.

The tag is decorated with a Decorative Label punchout from the same Under The Tree card stock, which is popped up with Dimensionals.  I also stamped the Chalk Talk sentiment in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White, then punched with the Extra Large Oval Punch for another popped up layer.

It's finished with an Itty Bitty Accents punched star from Champagne Glimmer Paper.

Under The Tree Patterns—One thing I adore about the Under The Tree Specialty Paper is that every sheet has a pretty kraft & white pattern on the back.  The other side features patterns in either Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green or Early Espresso colors.  So many fabulous pattern choices!

Open Box—I wanted to show off that two-side patterned paper, so I altered this box just a bit to make an open box.  Usually, the box just folds in and the flaps interlock to close it without needing any adhesive.

On this box, I snipped off part of box corners that fold in and turned them into corner tabs.  Then I used Fast Fuse Adhesive to adhere those tabs to the sides of the box.  This is a nice alternative that gives you more room inside the box for goodies.

Folded Down Flaps—I didn't punch the interlocking notch on the flaps, but instead, folded them down and attached them to the box sides with a couple of Dimensionals.  The pattern on the paper is so pretty that I didn't feel it needed much in the way of embellishments, so I just added a simple, coordinating Champagne Glimmer Paper star to each side.
