Waterfront Masculine Birthday Cards

Hi Stamping Friends,

I've been trying to replenish my inventory of masculine birthday cards, so today I'm sharing two Waterfront cards that would be great for a masculine birthday, Father's Day or thinking of you card.

But first, there is just one week left to register for my Butterfly Gala Sampler Class Kit!  You can also choose a local class that will be happening in May!  Click below for details…

Waterfront masculine birthday - two cool

Waterfront Masculine Birthday Cards

The simple "watercolor" shapes of the Waterfront stamp set come together to create a pretty landscape on these two cool cards.

Waterfront birthday - navy
Background Basics
—I started by texture embossing a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Woodland embossing folder and adhering it onto a Night of Navy card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Next, I tied a piece of Braided Linen Trim around the card front into a double-knot and frayed the ends.

Waterfront birthday - navy 3
Lovely Landscape—I stamped the Waterfront focal point onto a 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla.  I started with the land and built the rest of the scene from there:

  • The long land image was stamped across the middle of the piece with Pear Pizzazz.
  • The water image was stamped in Balmy Blue underneath.
  • The mountain was stamped in Early Espresso above.
  • I colored the pine trees directly on the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers: Mossy Meadow for the branches and Early Epsresso for the trunks, then stamped onto the land.
  • The sun was stamped in Daffodil Delight.

I mounted the layer onto a 3-3/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Night of Navy cardstock, then popped it up with Dimensionals over the trim.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Amazing Life greeting in Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla scrap cardstock, then punched it out with the Classic Label Punh and popped it up onto the card front.

Waterfront birthday - mossy
Two Cool—The second card has a little bit softer look because I lightened up the stamped images, changed the background and made it a horizontal card.

Waterfront birthday - mossy 2

Background Basics—This time, the textured layer is 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" and it's layered onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Mossy Meadow before mounted onto the Very Vanilla card base.

Lighter Stamped Layer—I stamped both card focal points at the same time. For the original card, I used the full-strength ink for each stamped image. Then, without re-inking, I stamped the same image onto the second card's focal point for a lighter version.  It's easy to get two cards done in no time!  The focal point mat is in Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Sweet Sentiment—The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink, punched out with the Classic Label Punch and adhered directly to the focal point.  I love how it stands out against the blue of the water.

So quick & easy!  I love how these cards turned out!
