I finally opened up another one of my new stamp sets from the Holiday CatalogWinter Memories—to create these beautiful cards…

Skates - two cool

CASEd from Sandi MacIver at Stamping With Sandi.

I've been trying to simplify my card style a bit for my classes, but THIS kind of card is much more my true stamping style!  I love all of the layers, and sparkle, and textures!

Skates - v

So many pretty elements!  Let's start with the skates from the Winter Memories stamp set.  I stamped them in Black StazOn, the colored them with Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake Ink and Blender Pens.

Skates - v2

The image is hand-cut, accented with some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for the holly berries, then popped up on the Window Frame Framelits layers.  The Very Vanilla die-cut was stamped with a greeting from More Merry Messages (stamped off once for lighter colored ink).  The Early Espresso layer had detailed paper piercing with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack.

Skates - snowflakes

Next we have the sparkly Champagne Glimmer Paper and Very Vanilla card stock snowflake die-cuts from the Snow Flurry Die, topped with another dot of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details glitter.

Skates - warm wishes

The background panels give awesome texture to the cards!  One panel is 1-3/4" x 5" Very Vanilla card stock, embossed with the Woodgrain Impressions Folder, and sponged lightly with Crumb Cake ink.  The second 2" x 5" panel is Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock, embossed with the Lacy Brocade Folder, then lightly sanded with the Stampin' Sanding System.

Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon is wrapped around the panels and the Early Espresso layer on which they are mounted.  The greeting, also from the Winter Memories set, is stamped in Early Espresso.  I added three dots of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details glitter glue for another sparkling accent.

Skates - h

The horizontal version has the same design elements with a few variations.  I used the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder for the Very Vanilla panel, and Petal-A-Plenty for the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations side.

Skates - h embossing

I also added more Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the textured poinsettia centers.

Skates - h3

And, I used Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding instead of Crumb Cake.  This card is definitely a favorite of mine this holiday season!
