Today we're taking a closer look at one of the cards we'll be creating at the Ornament Keepsakes Class—Wintery Gold Ornaments!

Gold keepsakes - linen

CASEd from Melissa Davies at RubberFUNactics.

This design is so soft and elegant!  A white card is perfect for winter, but this one is all dressed up with a textured lacy border and trimmed with gold!

I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamps and Ornament Framelits to create layered and popped up ornaments.  The larger ornament is stamped in Crumb Cake ink with an Early Espresso accent.  The smaller ornament is Soft Suede.  Both are decorated with Linen Thread bows, attached with a dab of Tombow Multipurpose glue, and Pearl Jewels.

I spritzed the whole card with my Champagne Shimmer Mist spray (rubbing alcohol & Shimmer Paint mixture).  This is probably the best photo of it…so hard to capture.  Let me assure you, it looks amazing and shimmery gold in person!

I added a small strip of Brushed Gold card stock peeking out from under the decorative border.  The border was die-cut first with the scallop from Large Scallop Edgelit Die, then embossed with one of the Delicate Designs Texture Folders.

The sentiment is from Greetings of the Season.

Gold keepsakes - twine

My second card is pretty similar except for the positioning of the ornaments, the substitution of the Early Espresso Baker's Twine, and the use of a different Delicate Designs Embossing Folder.

I love the use of the line of pearls on the small ornament…just a hint of a curve to make it realistic.

See how the snowflake texture border fits inside the Large Scallop die-cut edge?  I just figured that out recently…perfect!
