Wishing You Well Flip-Back Card
I CASEd this cool card idea from Natalie Travis and her card is highlighted below. I just loved the “flip-back” z-fold style and the cool, diamond-shaped focal point. I changed up the colors a bit and kept her basic layout.
Background Basics
I started with a Lemon Lolly card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at the 1″ and 4-1/4″ marks. I folded at the score lines in a “Z” fashion, so that the 1″ flap is flipping back on the card front. I decorated the larger card front panel with a 3″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Floral Delight Designer Series Paper. Next, I embossed a 7/8″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder and adhered it to the exposed inside card area, flush with the flip fold.
Focal Point
I die-cut a Basic White square using the Stylish Shapes Dies as the focal point foundation. I die-cut a Delightful Wishes “wishing” word and adhered it across the diamond with tiny dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I stamped a corresponding Delightful Wishes sentiment under it in Pecan Pie ink.
Next, I stamped the small flowers in Peach Pie for the details and Daffodil Delight for the solid flowers. I filled in the white spots with the little splotchy image in Pool Party ink. It’s layered onto a 3″ x 3″ piece of Peach Pie, then attached to the flip-back card front panel. TIP: Position your diamond where you want it, turn it over 180° top-to-bottom and add SEAL Adhesive where your flap lies only.
Finishing Touches
I finished by adding a couple of Pool Party Party Dots where the dots of the “i” letters would be. Cute!
Inside The Card
Don’t forget to finish off the inside with more coordinated stamped flowers. The perfect look!
Two Cool
This is the original card that was created by Natalie Travis. I’m loving the continuity of her background with the two DSP pieces showing on the Old Olive flip-back card: 3″ x 5-1/4″ and 1″ x 5-1/4″.
Her diamond focal point is a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ cut square, rather than die-cut. Her die-cut word is in Old Olive cardstock and the sentiment below is stamped in Pecan Pie. She used the Peach Pie Party Dots for the dotted “i” letters. She stamped the solid flowers in Daffodil Delight and added Peach Pie little splotches for the flower centers. Adorable!
