Hi Stamping Friends,

And The Winner Is…

I was so excited by the awesome snow storm yesterday, that I forgot to announce the winner of my Best of Love Card Kit.  I selected the winner from all of the comments posted on my two Best of Love blog posts (January 2 and January 3) using random.org.  And, the winner is…Cindy Gengo!  Woohooo!

M&m matchbooks - two cool

If you're looking for a super-quick and super-easy Valentine's treat, or just a little "thinking of you" gift, this is it!  These cute little matchbooks take just a few minutes to make and they are oh so darling!

M&m matchbooks - love ya  M&m matchbooks - love ya 3

My matchbook treats are decorated with the new Kaleidoscope Designer Series Papers on a Strawberry Slush base. Open up the matchbooks and they hold fun-size M&M's candy packs.

Matchbook Instructions

  • Start with a piece of 2-3/4" x 8-1/2" piece of card stock.  You'll be able to get four matchbooks from a single sheet of card stock—how efficient!
  • Score along the 8-1/2" edge at 3/4", 4-1/2" and 5".
  • Fold the 3/4" side up and staple close to the fold line to make the matchbook closure.  If you want, you can staple the fun-size M&M's inside the flap to keep it from falling out. Otherwise, you'll have to use a Glue Dot or something to hold it in place.
  • Fold the cover of the matchbook and tuck inside the flap.
  • Decorate!

M&m matchbooks - love ya 2

Wouldn't these make fabulous and fun Valentine's treats for your kids to pass out at school, or even for you to pass out to co-workers and friends?!  Seriously…it takes only a few minutes to decorate, too!

Background—My DSP was cut to 2-3/8" x 3-1/8" and layered onto a 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" Basic Black mat.  I wrapped some 1/8" Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon around that and tied it into a double-knot before adhering to the front with SNAIL.

Sentiment—The words and bubble are from the new Just Sayin' stamp set.  I stamped it in Black StazOn onto Whisper White, then die-cut it with the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits.

Bundle It & Save—Order the Just Sayin' stamp set and Word Bubble Framelits together in the Just Sayin' Bundle (wood) and save 15%!

Closure—The flap is decorated with a 2-3/4" x 1/2" piece of Kaleidoscope DSP, then accented with Rhinestone Jewels.

M&m matchbooks - youre the best

This version is a little more girly with the quaint polka dotted pattern from Kaleidoscope DSP and the matching Strawberry Slush Ruffle Stretch Trim.

M&m matchbooks - youre the best 2

This sentiment is all one stamp, but you have to die-cut it with two separate framelits: one for the bubble and one for the trio of smaller circles.
