Soft Vintage Flowering Fields Cards

Tomorrow, we'll have one last time to create with the pretty Flowering Fields Sale-a-Bration stamp set! I'll be sharing these soft & stunning cards that would work equally well as birthday, wedding, or thinking of you cards.

Background Basics—I started by embossing a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Elegant Dots embossing folder. I matted that onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Tip Top Taupe. After adding a 3-3/4" x 2" piece of patterned paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack to the embossed layer, I wrapped a piece of Venetian Crochet Trim around it and adhered the entire layer to a Very Vanilla card base.

Focal Point—I love the subtle layered stamping on this focal point! I used the flourish from the Timeless Textures stamp set, inked up in Tip Top Taupe and stamped off THREE times to create this ultra-light background pattern. It's stamped on a piece of 2-7/8" square Very Vanilla card stock. Then, I stamped the Flowering Fields images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Colored Blossoms—I colored the blooms with a Blender Pen inked with Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz ink pads. After framing the focal point with a 3" square Tip Top Taupe mat, I tied some Linen Thread around the layer. The bow was tied separately and adhered with a Glue Dot, so that it would lay perfectly! I used Dimensionals to pop up this layer.

Wink of Shimmer—I used the clear Wink of Stella brush to add some beautiful shimmer onto each of the flowers. Oooh! I LOVE this stuff!

Two Cool—My second version uses similar elements on a horizontal card base.

This time I used the Stylish Stripes Texture Impression Folder for the embossing, a different Going Places pattern for the accent and the graph looking Timeless Textures image for the background. I wrapped and tied the Linen Thread on this card first and you can see that the bow refuses to lay flat. That's why I did it in two parts on the other card. LOL!
