If you are looking for a creative and functional way to store your handmade cards, don't forget to order some Forget-Me-Not Keepers before they are gone in less than 3 days!
These handy boxes are the perfect size for organizing cards into birthday, thank you, Christmas…all your special occasion categories! They even come with 12 plastic dividers (with self-adhesive tab labels) to create file sections for each month's events.
But, my favorite part is that you can customize them with some of that colorful Designer Series Paper, so they will match your craft room when you stack them neatly on the shelf.
Here's a box that I decorated with the retiring Cottage Wall DSP (already gone), which I simply adore. (Decorating this box will allow me to keep the pretty patterns around me all the time!)
There's nothing difficult about the decorating here…just cut out your pieces and adhere them with SNAIL adhesive to the insides. You could certainly be much more creative than I've gotten here by adding stamped images, layers of cardstock, even decorating the outside with ribbons or other embellishments.
Box Top Measurements
- 1 piece of 6-1/2 x 8-3/4"
- 2 pieces of 3/4" x 8-3/4"
- 2 pieces of 3/4" x 6-1/2"
Box Measurements
- 2 pieces of 5" x 6-3-8"
- 2 pieces of 5" x 8-3/8"
TIPS: Adhere your paper to the box while your box is unsnapped (laying flat). Also, the darker the paper, the more your SNAIL line of adhesive will show through the box. To prevent this lined look, and for more secure mounting, use a permanent spray adhesive.
I also used each style of paper from my package to decorate the dividers. On the back of each one, I added a perpetual calendar that I printed from a template given to me my recruit, Michelle Hoover (not sure who actually created it, but thanks!). I love this idea! I can write down all my special occasions throughout the year, and have a convenient place to put my cards for each one! Too Cool! If you are interested in the perpetual calendar template for the dividers, contact me and I'll email it to you.
I decorated this box last year with some of my favorite paper that was
retiring: Bella Birds. This is the box that I carry to my workshops to show guests my sample cards. I have them divided into Featured Products, Current Stamp Sets, and Retired Stamps.
More Ideas From Stampin' Up!
Stampin' Up! has more ideas for decorating the outside of the box, including tying it with ribbon and adding floral embellishments. They also suggest using the Calendar background stamp on the dividers, along with the Full Calendar and the Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets to add the dates and month names. What a fantastic idea!

Make A Gift Box of Cards
Another idea is to use this decorated box for a gift! What new bride wouldn't love a box of Thank You cards? And, wouldn't grandma love a box of birthday and all-occasion cards that she could send at a moment's notice? Add a some stamps, the postage kind, and you've got a awesome, thoughtful, and very personal gift!
Here's an example I found at Splitcoast Stampers by mstout928.
What an fabulous set! She used the retiring Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin' Kit to make quick work of decorating the cards and box.
And, speaking of scrappin', what about using this as a way to organize all of those photos or accents for scrapbooking?! Perfect!
