Lovely Lattice Blends On Vellum Cards
The beautiful Lovely Lattice stamp set is perfect for coloring with any medium and I couldn't wait to try it with the Coloring On Vellum technique! I love the soft look of coloring on this translucent cardstock. Be sure to watch the Facebook LIVE video to see how to create these cards with lots of tips and tricks along the way!
Basic Background—I started with a Lovely Lipstick card base for the first card. Next I die-cut a Whisper White layer with the 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched Framelit and adhered it to the center of the card front.
Blends On Vellum—I inked the Lovely Lattice image in clear VersaMark ink, then stamped it onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Vellum Cardstock. After sprinkling on some Copper Embossing Powder and tapping off the excess, I set the image with the Heat Tool until it was glossy & smooth.
Next, I flipped the image over and colored with Stampin' Blends Markers on the back. Here are the Blends colors I used:
- Light & Dark Lovely Lipstick on the largest flower
- Dark Lovely Lipstick on two medium flowers & some buds
- Dark Calypso Coral on two medium flowers & scallop frame
- Dark Rich Razzleberry on some small flowers & buds
- Dark Old Olive on leaves & bud stems
- Dark Daffodil Delight on the flower centers
Frame Finish—I adhered the vellum layer to the card front using Tear & Tape Adhesive all the way around the outer edge. Next, I die-cut the center window from a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock using that same 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. I adhered that with some Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
Sweet Sentiment—The Amazing Life sentiment was stamped in Lovely Lipstick onto a 3-3/4" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White. I fishtail cut the ends and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Amazing Life stamp set and Rectangle Stitched Framelits together as a bundle to save 10%!
Finishing Touches—I punched a Lovely Lipstick bitty butterfly using the Butterfly Duet Punch, embossed it with the Subtle Texture Impressions Folder, then attached it to the card with a Glue Dot. I wanted the pearls to match the copper, so I colored Basic Pearl Jewels with a Bronze Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the butterfly and around the sentiment.
Here are the Blends colors I used on the back:
- Light & Dark Balmy Blue on the largest flower
- Light Nigh of Navy on two medium flowers & some buds
- Light Highland Heather on two medium flowers & scallop frame
- Dark Rich Razzleberry on some small flowers & buds
- Dark Mossy Meadow on leaves & bud stems
- Dark Daffodil Delight on the flower centers
Sweet Sentiment—The sentiment is also from the Amazing Life stamp set in Night of Navy ink.
Finishing Touches—The butterfly is in Balmy Blue cardstock and I used Silver Metallic Pearls to accent it and the sentiment.
