#1 Beautiful You Happy Birthday, Gorgeous Card

 

The Beautiful You stamp set, with its three woman images, is designed to work well with several stamping techniques: two-stepping, like the one on this post, watercoloring with the new Watercolor Pencils and heat embossing.  Another technique that has already been really popular to try with this set is paper piecing!  It's a fun & clever way to dress up the woman in Designer Series Paper fashions! 

 

Background Basics—Stamp the new So In Love flower image in Sweet Sugarplum ink all over a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  Mount it to a Basic Gray card base.

Designer Piecing—Stamp the Beautiful You woman image in Basic Gray onto a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Whisper White, as well as onto a scrap piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper.  Hand-cut the dress and hat parts of the images from the DSP with super-sharp Paper Snips.  Adhere DSP elements to the original image on the Whisper White layer.

Finishing Touches—Stamp a Beautiful You sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum under the woman.  Add a 2-1/2' x 1/2" strip of the same DSP along the bottom of that layer, then mat onto a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" layer of Basic Gray.  Wrap new 3/8" Metallic Ribbon, a selection from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration brochure, around the layer, securing the ends to the back.  Pop up with Dimensionals onto the card front.  Finish by adorning her with some Pearl jewelry around her neck and wrist and on her hat!  Love those details!

#2 Beautiful You Happy For You Card

 

This card uses the same paper piecing technique with some different DSP and a brighter color combination.

 

Background Basics—Adhere a 5-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of the new Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper to a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using Multipurpose Glue. Adhere both layers to an Old Olive card base with SNAIL.

 

Paper Pieced Circle—Stamp the dancing girl from the Beautiful You stamp set in Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White, then die cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.  Stamp the same image again on a pattern from the Succulent Garden DSP, hand-cut the dress and adhere it to the original image.  Color in her hat with the Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker.  Die-cut a second larger circle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Adhere both layer with Multipurpose Glue, then adhere to the card base.

 

Sweet Sentiment—Stamp the Beautiful You sentiment in Black ink onto Whisper White, then die cut with a smaller circle from the Layering Circles Framelits, then pop up with Dimensionals.
