Sweet What I Love Cards

I wanted to play with the sweet What I Love Sale-a-Bration stamp set one more time before it was gone, so I created these cards for my "Last Thursdays" class this week.  I love the two-step images and tiny greetings.

Background Basics—I started by embossing a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White card stock with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.  After adding a 3/4" x 5-3/8" strip of Lost Lagoon Designer Series Paper, I wrapped some Old Olive Baker's Twin around the layer and adhered it to a Lost Lagoon card base.

Focal Point—I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a 2-7/8" square piece of Whisper White first, then I started building the layered flower from What I love.

Two-Step Masked Flower—I stamped the flower outline in Tangelo Twist first, then lined up the solid second stamp over the top in the same color ink.  Next, I created a simple mask by stamping the outline image on a sticky note and cutting it out.  After aligning the mask over the top of the flower, I added the leaves and flowers in Old Olive and Lost Lagoon. 

I finished by coloring in the leaves and flowers with an Aqua Painter and inks.  The layer is matted onto a 3" square of Lost Lagoon card stock and attached to the card from with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touch—Lastly, I tied a small bow with the Old Olive Baker's Twine and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

Two Cool—My second version uses the same elements on a horizontal card base.

I used the other sentiment and stamped the "You!" on the inside.  I also used a different pattern for the Lost Lagoon accent strip.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
