A CASE for Garden In Bloom

Hi Stamping Friends!

It was a good thing that I didn't have any classes to prep for over the past couple of days because my most favorite heavy-duty paper trimmer broke.  Then, when I purchased a replacement at a local store, I got it home and it was defective, too!  Now, I'm heading back to try again today.  Hopefully, I'll have it all resolved and a new trimmer in place so I can cut my Designer Series Paper Stack Shares next week!

Garden in bloom CASE - two cool

Today, I'm working on some cute little thank you cards using the brand new Garden In Bloom set.  I loved the sample card that is shown on page 119 of the Annual Catalog, and I couldn't wait to CASE it!

Garden in bloom CASE - square

CASEd from page 119 of the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog.

Background Basics—This sweet, square card begins with a 4-1/4" x 8-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock, scored at 4-1/4".  I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.

Sweet Sentiment —The stamped layer begins with a 3-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  I started by stamping the Garden In Bloom sentiment in Memento Black Ink on the bottom left, so that I knew where to position the flower.

Blossom Stamping—I started building the Garden In Bloom two-step flower piece-by-piece.  I stamped the stem in Old Olive ink, then added the bold flower image in Pool Party.  Next, I finished the flower with a Blushing Bride center and added some Olive Olive stamped leaves.  So cute, and so easy to line up with the see-thru photopolymer style stamps!

Finishing Touches—I added a 1" x 4-1/4" strip of the English Garden small-patterned paper, then wrapped the card front with Old Olive Baker's Twine.

Two Cool—For my second version, I went back to a traditional size card base.  I used the other Garden in Bloom phrase on this one.

One thing I love about photopolymer stamps is that they are flexible!  Notice that my flower is leaning in the opposite direction…it's easy to curve that stem in any direction and at any curve you want!

Inside Décor—A sweet little flower adds just the right touch to the inside of the card!

I was liking this card so much that I've been working on a whole stack of them!  These are still in progress because they still need some twine.  I also found that I liked the stems and leaves better in the lighter Pear Pizzazz ink color.  Notice the card at the bottom left is my original, and all of the rest are in Pear Pizzazz.
