Dawn's A Good Man Grew Up Loved Card
I've always loved the sketched look of the images in the Beautiful You and Wonderful Moments stamp sets and I'm thrilled that they now have a masculine, very family-oriented stamp set that matches that look. In fact, the sets actually coordinate, so you can create family scenes when you combine the images. For today, I'm sharing a swap card created by Dawn Olchefske that's perfect for Father's Day!
Background Basics—I love the simplicity of this card! It starts with a Crumb Cake card base. Dawn layered a 3" x 2-1/2" piece of the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper onto a 3-1/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Night of Navy to make an eye-catching foundation for the focal point. It's adhered with SNAIL onto the card base.
Focal Point—Dawn stamped the A Good Man image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut the image with the Stitched Rectangles dies. She colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers: Crumb Cake for the man's pants, Balmy Blue for his shirt, Night of Navy for the child's pants and Real Red for the shirt. This layer is mounted on the background with SNAIL adhesive.
Sweet Sentiment—Dawn stamped the A Good Man greeting onto Balmy Blue cardstock, die-cut it with the same Rectangle Stitched dies and popped up up with a few Dimensionals. So simple and sweet! Swap card received from Kay Kalthoff at Stamping To Share.
Kay's A Good Man Relax Your Way Card
Today's second card is a swap card I received from Kay Kalthoff featuring the same amazing stamp set and another quick & easy card!
Background Basics—Kay's card also begins with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, she stamped the A Good Man image and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Seaside Spray cardstock. I love how she gave the layers some extra interest by sponging some Seaside Spray ink around the edges. It's layered onto a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic Black cardstock and popped up with Dimensionals.
Accent Layer—Next, Kay stamped the Buffalo Check pattern in Basic Black onto a 3-3/8" x 1-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake. She fishtail cut the end than added a Silver Metallic Brad to the other end. TIP: You can either use a retired 1/8" hole punch or the Take Your Pick paper piercing tool to make the hole for the brad. The banner is adhered to the card front with SNAIL.
