Hi Stamping Friends!

I've been working behind the scenes on some awesome improvements to my Too Cool Stamping business. Here are two of them!

New Too Cool Look!  If you've been to my Too Cool Stamping blog's home page or Too Cool Stamping Facebook Page recently, then you may have already noticed that I've changed over to a new design!  I have a brand new logo and look, thanks to my friend Melissa Hitzemann at Whirlygig Photography. You may see more small changes as I tweak the links & widgets in the coming weeks.

The new style features all my favorite colors: Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry & Bermuda Bay!  I love how the flowers look very "stamp-like" and the background textures are reminiscent of Stampin' Up! patterns.  Melissa created a cute tag in the shape of our Scallop Tag Topper Punch, tied with baker's twine, and she even made sure there was some washi tape stripes that I've been raving about so much lately!  It's so exciting to finally have a style that feels like me!  Thank you, Melissa!

New Class Dates Coming Soon! Another thing I've been working on is changing up my class schedule to spread out the most popular local classes a bit.  The Stamper Sampler Class and Stamp-of-the-Month Classes will be coming back in August on new dates, and I'll be announcing the dates for the Countdown To Christmas class series, too!  Stay tuned!

Build A Birthday Candles Banner Cards

After a bit of hiatus, I'll be bringing back Stamp-of-the-Month kits beginning in August!  The first featured stamp set will be Build A Birthday.  Complete class details will be coming soon!

Today, I'm giving you a sneak peek of one of the cards from the Build A Birthday Stamp-of-the-Month kit!

Background Basics—The card starts with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of colorful patterned paper from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack, adhered to a Cucumber Crush card base. 

Bermuda Banner—I cut a 2" x 5" piece of Bermuda Bay card stock for the banner, then punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch—wow, that's easy!

Birthday Candles—I stamped each of the patterned rectangles from the Build A Birthday photopolymer stamp set in a different color onto Whisper White card stock: Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay & Watermelon Wonder.  Next, I added the candle flames in Crushed Curry ink.  It's easy to line them up because of the photopolymer, see-thru stamp style! 

The images are punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, then matted onto a Watermelon Wonder circle die-cut with the Circles Collection Frameits dies. I popped this layer up over the banner.

Flickering Flame—For a little sparkle in the flames, I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with a 2-Way Glue Pen.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Build A Birthday greeting in Cucumber Crush onto a 3/4" wide strip of Whisper White card stock.  I trimmed the banner to the size I wanted, about 3-1/8" long, then snipped the fish-tail ends by hand and popped up with Dimensionals..

Bitty Bloom—I punched an Itty Bitty Accents flower from Crushed Curry card stock, curved up the petals by wrapping the bloom around the end of a Bone Folder, then attaching with a Glue Dot.  A Rhinestone Jewel tops off the center of the flower.

Two Cool—My second version includes all of the same elements on a horizontal card.

I made my candles fan out a bit on this one, and I changed the sentiment to Watermelon Wonder.
