I'm so excited to start really digging in and playing with the NEW Catalog stuff!  The very first set that I purchased with our pre-order was the Work of Art set!  I love the versatility of this artsy element set!

Work of art lagoon - two cool

I couldn't wait to try out the elements with a rainbow of colors, so I started with a refreshing combination featuring the new Lost Lagoon In Color!  Oh, I just love playing with new color combinations and this one is so delightful: Lost Lagoon, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party!  EEEEeeeee!  It makes me giddy, I love it so!

Background Texture—I started by adding a little texture to the Lost Lagoon card base.  I embossed a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Lost Lagoon with the Chevron Texture Impressions Folder.

TIP: To get the chevrons to go in the right direction, I had to use the "short" side of the embossing folder.  I embossed one end of the card stock first, then I embossed the other end by carefully aligning any pattern that had to be embossed twice.  Worked like a charm!

Colorful Chevrons—I stamped the chevron Work of Art image onto a piece of 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the clear mount style of stamps, which makes it so easy to line up.

NEW Basic Black Ink—I wanted a simple sentiment, so I selected one from the Another Thank You Photopolymer set.  I used the new Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, which I'm sorry to say will not be available until the Blendabilities are released in late June to early July, because it is part of that line of products.  But, THIS ink is my new go-to true Black Ink, since the smearing issue with the Classic Black Ink Firm Foam Pad has never been completely resolved.  This will be the ink I recommend from now on!  It is awesome!

Wrap It Up—After mounting the stamped layer onto a 2-5/8" x 4-5/8" Pear Pizzazz frame, I wrapped the piece with the new Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin Ribbon.  The whole piece is popped up with Dimensionals.

Colored Rhinestones—Speaking of Blendabilities…did you notice my cool & colorful Rhinestone Jewels?!!  I used my new Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers to color the jewels for some coordinated sparkles!  Too much fun!

Even though the colors aren't an exact match, they are pretty forgiving and when they are on the rhinestones, tend to pick up the colors surrounding them.  Rememer that you get three different shades of the same color (light, medium, dark) in each Blendabilities pack, so it's pretty easy to find a color that matches "good enough." LOVE!!!

Work of art lagoon - swoosh

For my second version, I used the pretty swoosh that looks like a watercolor wash!  Again, it was easy to line them up with the clear mount style.  I also used the Decorative Dots Texture Impressions Folder for the background texture, and wrapped the ribbon around the full-length of the card.  If you've got a Stampin' Scrub for quick color changes, this card is a breeze to put together in under 10 minutes!
