Hi Stamping Friends!

A big shout-out to my stamping friends who attended last night's "Last Thursdays" class!  We had a spectacular turn-out and I had the chance to meet a couple of new stamping friends, too!  Thank you for stamping with me!

Today, we're taking a closer look at the adorable little goodie bags that you can create with my Fall Fest Stamp-of-the-Month Class Kit!

September Stamp-of-The-Month Class Kit—Fall Fest Projects

Fall Fest - goodie bags ensemble

The whimsical images in the new Fall Fest photopolymer stamp set combine to make the perfect tag topper for Tag A Bag goodie bags!  Use them for Halloween treat holders, Thanksgiving place-setting favors, or simple take-away gifts for your autumn party!  I bet your kids would love to help you assemble them, too!

Bags open  Fall Fest - stamp set

Your September Stamp-of-the-Month Class featuring the new Fall Fest Photopolymer stamp set will include 5 chevron bags, 5 polka dot bags, 10 In Color Party Pennants tags and 20 In Color Clothespins—you add the cute Fall Fest stamped and die-cut images on the included Whisper White cardstock.

The kit also includes supplies to make two autumn-themed cards with envelopes!  See the Jack-o-Lantern one up close.

Fall Fest - 1 blackberry pumpkin    Fall Fest - 2 honey jack o lanterns

Party Pennants—Each of the bags will have a Party Pennant Bigz Die shape in one of the 2014-2016 In Colors.  They'll be two of each color—Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist—in one of each pennant style, as shown above.

You'll also receive a background piece of patterned paper from the 2014-2016 In Color DSP Stack.  I used them for patterned backgrounds on the same color tag, but you could also mix & match for other color combinations.

In Color Clothespins—You'll also be able to mix & match the 2014-2016 In Color Designer Clothespins that hold the tag in place and secure the bag closed.  The clothespines come in both patterns and solids and you get 20 in the pack, so you'll have 10 left over for other projects!

Fall Fest - 3 lagoon ghost pumpkin  Fall Fest - 4 tangelo pumpkin leaves

Pumpkins & Jack-o-Lanterns—My Fall Fest pumpkins are colored with either Pumpkin Pie or Tangelo Twist ink for the pumpkin base, with Mossy Meadow stems!  There are Fun Fall Framelits that match every shape in the Fall Fest stamp set, so I highly recommend buying the bundle for easy cutting!  It's worth the price on these sometimes intricate shapes.

TIP: I've found that coloring with markers on the clear, Photopolymer stamps will not give the same awesome results that the rubber versions of stamps would provide.  You can see that the pumpkin above on the Tangelo Twist tag is a little more streaky from the marker strokes.  The jack-o-lantern on the Lost Lagoon tag was strategically inked on the ink pad, then the stem was colored with marker.  That image is much more crisp.

Photopolymer TIP #1:  Before stamping with your new photopolymer stamps, ink them first with VersaMark ink to condition them, then stamp off and ink them with Classic Ink.  You'll get better ink coverage on the stamp and a cleaner stamped image on the paper.

Photopolymer TIP #2: There is no foam cushion on photopolymer stamps, so you will get a better stamped image when you stamp with a firm, yet slightly cushy base.  I use the Piercing Mat as my stamping surface and it works great!

Fall Fest - 5 mossy pumpkin ghost   Fall Fest - 6 lagoon pumpkins

Ghosts—There is a ghost stamp, but I couldn't come up with a color of ghost that I liked.  Instead, I simply die-cut the shape with the Fun Fall Framelits, then stamped the face with the jack-o-lantern faces.

The ghost pictured above has the eyes from one of the faces, and the mouth is one of those same eyes turned upside-down.

Fall Fest - 7 tangelo ghost leaf   Fall Fest - 8 mossy jack o lanterns

Leaves—I stamped bag leaves in a variety of colors: Blackberry Bliss, Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze and Hello Honey.  Those framelits really come in handy for the leaves!

Dimension—I used Dimensionals to pop up most of the Fall Fest elements on each tag.

Fall Fest - 9 honey jack o lanterns   Fall Fest - 10 blackberry jack o lanterns

Assembly Line TIP—When you're making lots of these bags, I suggest stamping multiples of all of the pumpkins and the leaves first. Stamp a bunch and cut the different shapes at the same time for less runs through the Big Shot.

Get a whole pile of images ready and start playing with them to create pleasing combinations.  Add the faces once you figure out your groupings.  It's so much faster stamping mass production style than it is stamping and die-cutting each image one at a time as you layer them.
