Adorable Owls My Friends Cards

Here are a couple of Adorable Owls cards that are super-cute and super-quick! They're also a great way to use up scraps of Designer Series Paper!

Background Basics—I started with a traditional 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Sahara Sand card base, scored at the 4-1/4" mark. For the background, I adhered a 2" x 4-1/4" piece and a 1-3/4" x 4" piece of coordinating Dandy Designs DSP to a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Basic White cardstock. You could use any size and number of coordinating DSP scraps, just slightly overlapped for a fun and simple geometric background. I tied some Balmy Blue Variegated Ribbon around the layers before mounting it onto the card base.

Sweet Owl—I stamped the Adorable Owls image in Memento Black ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes circle die-cut. It's colored with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Crumb Cake for the outer feathers, Ivory for the inside feathers, Light Pale Papaya for the beak and feet and Light Balmy Blue for the eyes. I brushed on some Wink of Stella for some shimmer on the eyes and inside feathers. The circle is popped up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Adorable Owls sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a 1/2" strip of Basic White, cut the end into a banner shape and popped it up, too! I finished with a couple of Iridescent Rhinestones next to the circle. Absolutely darling!

Two Cool—My second card is a 4-1/4" x 11" Gray Granite card base, scored at the 5-1/2" mark. I adhered two different Dandy Designs patterns and tied Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around the card front.

Sweet Owl—This Adorable Owl image is colored with Gray Granite for the outer feathers, Light Crumb Cake for the inner feathers, Pale Papaya for the feet and beak and Smoky Slate for the eyes. Of course, you could color it in any number of ways…that cutey will look great no matter how you color him!
