Affection Collection Convention Make & Take

Today I was putting together some of the awesome make & takes from this year's Convention!  Although I didn't go, my friend and fellow demo Mary Ellen Scheiber was kind enough to ship all my Convention goodies to me, so I didn't miss out on all of the fun!

Here is one of the cute make & take cards from my kit featuring the new Affection Collection stamp set in the Holiday Catalog

Affection collection 127949L

I think it's designed to be a Valentine's set, but the images are versatile enough for any occasion.  In fact, I think the distressed designs and flourishes have just the right touch of whimsy and grunge to make them appealing to teenage stampers, too!

This card is all about layering stamps!  I started with the lightest colors first, then added on from there.  The square flourish is inked in Daffodil Delight, then edged in More Mustard using the Rock & Roll technique.  Next, I stamped the wings in Primrose Petals.  The small Midnight Muse flourish is stamped off once, so it wasn't so bright.  The sentiment is in Early Espresso.

I stamped the wings a second time on scrap card stock and punched it with the Small Heart Punch for a pop-up. And, I stamped and cut out the More Mustard colored banner at the top, also popped up.

The bottom is edged with a Scallop Trim Border in Early Espresso card stock, and the sentiment is accented by two Rhinestone Jewels.
