It's sure more fun when you're stamping with friends! I'd love for you to join me in my Too Cool Stamping Studio in Fort Wayne, IN, for open stamp & chat time! Nothing formal, just bring your own projects and let's stamp together!

Today's two cool cards were featured at my "Last Thursdays" class last week. It's such a pretty card with the beautiful Watercolor Wonder paper in the background, and it's so quick to make. AND, it's popular, too!
You know a card design is good when it's copied over and over. I CASEd this one from my downline Jodi Geers at PolkaDotStamper. She CASEd it from Darla Eigenschink at HoosierStampgirl? And, Darla CASEd hers from Shoni Matney at Shoni's Blog. Will you be the next one to CASE it? I'd love to see your version!
Background Basics—I started with a plain old Whisper White card base. First, I stamped the Wetlands greeting in Gumball Green, so it would be positioned where I wanted it to be. Next, I randomly stamped some Flower Shop blooms in Smoky Slate over the background.
If I had to do it all again, I would have preferred to stamp more flowers over the background like Jodi's card. I like hers better. <pouts>
Wonderful DSP—I layered my 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper onto a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Gumball Green card stock.
Details, Details—Just for fun, I used my perforated Rotary Trimmer blade to create some faux stitching along the edges of my Gumball Green card stock. I wrapped some Island Indigo Baker's Twine around that layer before adhering it to the card front with SNAIL.
Vellum-Backed Flower—I stamped the Flower Shop flower in Island Indigo and punched it with the Pansy Punch, then stamped the smaller Petite Petals flower in Gumball Green and punched that with the Petite Petals Punch. It's topped with a Pearl Jewel.
My favorite part of this card is the Vellum flower, punched with the Blossom Punch, layered with Dimensionals behind the stamped petals. Isn't that a gorgeous, yet subtle, effect to complement the Watercolor Wonder paper?! Love it!
These card elements work great as a horizontal card, too! I like my placement of the background stamped flowers much better on this card.
You can see the faux stitching from the Perforation Blade a little better on this photo (click to enlarge). It's a small detail, but it gives a nice finished look to the edges. What do you think?
