Artistically Inked Center Flap Cards
This is a fun style of card that allows you to showcase the beautiful papers from the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper pack.
Background Basics—The two-part card base includes a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" Pale Papaya foundation and a 8-1/2" x 3" piece of Pale Papaya, scored at the 4-1/4" mark. I adhered 1-1/4" x 4" strips of Expressions In Ink paper to each side of the base, then adhered the mini card to the center. That center flap is decorated with a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of coordinating Expressions In Ink DSP.
Focal Point—I stamped an Artistically Inked sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a Basic White circle die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. For each of the flowers, I inked the stamp with Pale Papaya ink, then used a Sponge Dauber to add just a few dabs of Calypso Coral before stamping onto Basic White cardstock. I love the results! Just a tinge of darker color gives the blooms beautiful depth and detail! I die cut them with the Artistic Dies and popped those onto the circle with the Dimensionals located closer to the center of the flowers.
Next, I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Basic White and die-cut them with the Artistic Dies. They are adhered with SEAL and tucked under the blooms. After arranging the flowers onto the circle, I mounted the whole focal point onto the center flap with SEAL Adhesive.
Finishing Touches—I finished by adding a few gold Metallic Pearls (retiring) to the flower center to mimic the DSP pattern. I also tied some Fine Art Ribbon (retiring) around the center flap into a double-knot.
Inside Décor—I stamped some simple Pear Pizzazz leaves on the inside to add a little pretty.
Two Cool—The base on this second card is in Old Olive. I used a different multicolor floral pattern of Expressions In Ink DSP on the sides and coordinating Pale Papaya pattern on the center flap.
Sweet Sentiment—This time the sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce.
Lovely Flower—The large flower was stamped in Magenta Madness and the smaller one in Pale Papaya. The leaves are in Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce. Rather than Metallic Pearls, I stamped the dots onto the flower center in stamped-off Shaded Spruce.
