Artistically Inked Expressions In Ink Gate-Fold Cards
As if the images in the Artistically Inked stamp set aren't beautiful enough, the suite also contains the gorgeous, gold-accented papers in Expressions In Ink. I especially love that some of the papers are designed to be cut into full card fronts for quick, easy and absolutely stunning cards! I used a couple of those amazing patterns for these gate-fold cards, then decorated them with eye-catching gold embellishments.
Background Basics—I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Polished Pink cardstock and scored it at the 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" marks. I lined up the ends of the cards flush, then burnished the folds with a Bone Folder.
Next, I trimmed down one the Polished Pink patterns of Expressions In Ink to 3-3/4" x 5" to create a quick background for this full-front gate-fold card. I stamped an Artistically Inked sentiment in the blank space with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then mounted it onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black. I tied some Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the layers and mounted them onto the front left gate with SEAL or SEAL+.
Beautiful Blooms—I love that the patterns are very forgiving in the color department; you can use many pinks and greens and still match perfectly. I stamped the Artistically Inked rose image in both Polished Pink and Magenta Madness inks onto Basic White, then die cut them with the corresponding die in the Artistic Dies set.
Finishing Touches—Next, I die cut the Gold Foil leaves with the Artistic Dies. Since every piece of DSP will be a little different, and the sentiment may be in a different position, I simply cut the leaves apart and arranged them around the word in a pleasing manner. I attached the leaves at the stem with SEAL, underneath where the flowers were to be positioned, then popped those flowers up over them with Dimensionals. I tucked the loose ends of the leaves under the ribbon.
I finished with a couple of Gilded Gems near the sentiment.
Inside Décor—I stamped the roses onto the inside 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and added a strip of the DSP that was leftover from trimming the front background.
Two Cool—This green pattern from the Expressions In Ink is also designed for easy card fronts. I stamped the sentiment in the blank corner with Memento Black ink and mounted it to a Basic Black layer.
This time I tied Just Jade & Gold Braided Ribbon around the layers, fraying the ends for a unique look. It's all attached it to the front gate-fold on the Shaded Spruce card base.
Stamped Bouquet—I stamped the flowers in Just Jade and Pear Pizzazz this time and added pieces of the gold leaves. I finished with a couple of Brushed Brass Butterflies! I'm so excited to see that these cuties are in the upcoming catalog! They are flat, so they are perfect to use on cards that you mail!
