Sunday Showcase: Favorite Convention Swaps Part 2

__________________________________________________________________________

Hi Stamping Friends!

I've got a few more of my favorite Convention swaps to share with you today.  Be sure to check out more favorite swaps at last week's Sunday Showcase.  Let's get right to it!

Kind & cozy - felice gladue copy

Created by Felice Gladue.  Color combo: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White.

This is a great example of how you can have lots of textures and patterns, yet still have a "clean" look.  The background has a Perfect Polka Dot texture, and the two banners are also textured with the Chevron Folder and the Stripes Folder.  I love the Blushing Bride Candy Dot for just a tiny bit of color to balance the focal point.

Kind & cozy 2 - felice gladue copy

Felice features the Kind & Cozy stamp set (wood), which begs to be layered!  The large gingham circle was punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, and the rest of the stacks were created with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch and 1-1/4" Circle Punch

Six sided sampler - anon copy

Did you make this swap?  Let me know.  Color combo: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

This one has a nice masculine feel.  It reminds me of something I heard Brian King, one of the male demo presenters at Convention, remind us lady demos—guys like color!  Don't be afraid to use it!  It's ok to get away from every shade of brown!  Haha!

Even the Shop Around Wheel, which has lots of feminine images, looks great here in Crumb Cake for the background.

Six sided sampler 2 - anon copy

The trio of Six-Sided Sampler (wood) hexagons, punched with the matching Hexagon Punch, makes an awesome focal point!  Also features: Honeycomb Texture Impressions Folder and Linen Thread.

Make a wish - anon copy

Did you make this swap?  Let me know.  Color combo: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla.

Sometimes less is more!  I love the simplicity, as well as the unexpected color combination, of this card.  The plain Sahara Sand card base is stamped with a sentiment from You're Amazing (wood) in Cherry Cobbler.

Make a wish 2 - anon copy

Adding a Designer Frames Folder oval texture creates the perfect foundation for the Make A Cake (wood) focal point.  After embossing the image in Early Espresso Powder, it was punched with the Extra Large Oval Punch—perfect fit! The scrunched Boho Blossoms Punch paper flower adds the just the right pop of color!  Also features: Rhinestone Jewels.

Wetlands - jill loveland copy

Created by Jill Loveland at Inking Therapy.  Color combo: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Whisper White.

Ooohh!  What a fun beach theme using the Wetlands (wood) stamp set!  The background is embossed with the Woodgrain Texture Folder, sponged with Crumb Cake to accentuate the lines, then accented with the new, and super-awesome, 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog.

Wetlands 2 - jill loveland copy

Looks like Jill colored on a Clear Mount Block with Markers to "stamp" that beach horizon.  I don't think the other images are Stampin' Up!, but you could easily pair some nautical images from By The Tide (wood) or The Open Sea (wood).

The open sea - gail derea copy

Created by Gail DeRea at Gail's Creative Chaos.  Color combo: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

And, speaking of The Open Sea (wood), here is a fantastic nautical (and masculine!) card.  Gail highlighted the ship on a Window Frame Framelit die-cut, layered on another Cherry Cobbler frame.  The diagonal background is half stamped and half embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  The Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine is the perfect embellishment!
