Swirly Bird Vine of Blooms Cards

I love how simple and stunning this Swirly Bird card turned out! This is definitely one that could be mass-produced to give you lots of pretty cards on hand for last-minute thoughtful wishes! Let's take a closer look…

CASEd from Ilina Crouse at Creativity Within.

Background Basics—I made this card a vertical-opening card just for fun! I wanted a sturdy base, so I used the Whisper White Thick Card Stock for this 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" folded card. The heavier stock provides a superb neutral base that is a little higher quality than traditional Whisper White card stock. It's worth the extra cost for cards like this!

Suede Vines—For the focal point foundation, I die cut some Soft Suede vines using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. They are adhered with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, then trimmed off flush with the edges with my super-sharp Paper Snips.

Sweet Sentiment—Next, I added a Soft Suede greeting, nestled into the curve of the vines. The Swirly Bird stamp set doesn't have sentiments, so I designed my class cards to make it easy to use any greetings you may have on hand. I recommend using the beautiful all-occasion phrases from the Rose Wonder set, like I did on this version.

Bitty Blooms—I decorated the vines with tiny blossoms made with the two small Swirly Bird swirl stamps. I actually found it easiest to die cut a bunch of the coordinating circular shapes with the Swirly Scribbles die from Whisper White card stock, then stamp over the top of them with the flowers. It's easy to line them up, since they are the all-clear photopolymer stamps! The smallest flowers are in Flirty Flamingo and the larger flowers are in Sweet Sugarplum. They are all popped up with Dimensionals, cut down to size with Paper Snips.

Lovely Leaves—I die cut a bunch of the two leaves shapes, too, and stamped them with the matching leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink. They are attached with Glue Dots.

Finishing Touches—Finally, I added a few White Perfect Accents embellishments around the vine for more texture & shine! Simple and so pretty!

Two Cool—For my second version, I tried out some cool-tone colors!

These blooms were made with Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder and this time I topped the larger flowers with the White Perfect Accents!

Sweet Sentiment—The stamp set that comes in the Watercolor Wishes kit also has tons of beautiful, all-occasion greetings! I used that set for the greeting on this card.
