Autumn leaves don’t have to be all oranges and yellows and reds. I love this beautiful color combination for fall: Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Pecan Pie and Basic Beige. It’s a bit unconventional, but so, so lovely!

The gorgeous background starts by die-cutting a large intricate leafy frame using the Amber Autumn Dies. The die only cuts out the center pattern; there is no outer frame cut. So, it starts with a 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock.

I adhered it to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic Beige with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. In the video, I gave a tip of using a silicone basting brush with the bristles cut down to 1/2″ long for applying the glue. I had a customer share that she uses the pages of an old catalog or magazine to have a clean surface to apply the glue that’s also very disposable. Great tip!

I mounted the background onto a Pretty Peacock card base.

I stamped the Amber Autumn sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a 3-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Lost Lagoon. It’s matted onto a 3-5/8″ x 1-5/8″ piece of Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper and adhered to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.

I stamped the Amber Autumn leaves & acorns image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic Beige cardstock. The surface of this color is not as smooth as Basic White or Very Vanilla, but it’s still fun to color on it with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I colored the acorns in Light & Dark Pecan Pie, then colored the leaves in Light & Dark Lost Lagoon. Then, I die-cut the image with the Amber Autumn Dies.

Before I popped up the image with Dimensionals, I added SEAL Adhesive to the back and folded on some Irregular Weave Trim. Oh, how I love this unique texture! The interesting weave of stiff fibers is surprisingly flexible. It reminds me of straw and it the perfect texture to add to fall projects!

I finished by adding a few Streaked Dots around the focal point. The coffee colored dots coordinate so well with the Earthen Toned Metallic Paper: beautiful shine!
