Avant Garden Gingham Birthday Wishes Cards

The Avant Garden Sale-a-Bration exclusive set has all the makings of a sweet spring flower, along with delightful sentiments. I created these cards as part of our recent Kickoff Party.

Background Basics—I embossed the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White background layer with the Petal Burst Texture Impressions Folder and adhered it with the "debossed" side up. That's my favorite textured side for this folder! Next, I added a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of Sweet Sugarplum gingham from the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper to that layer, and wrapped the Sweet Sugarplum Succulent Garden Ribbon around the back. It's all mounted onto a Sweet Sugarplum card base.

Flower Focal Point—The Avant Garden stamp set is a "two-step" stamp set, designed to use several images to build a larger image in different colors. I stamped the flower image in Sweet Sugarplum onto a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White, then stamped the flower center in Rich Razzleberry. Next, I added the Wild Wasabi stem and leaves. I finished by attaching a White Baker's Twine bow with a Glue Dot.

Finishing Touches—I stamped the Avant Garden sentiment in Rich Razzleberry, then mounted the layer onto a 2-1/8" x 3-5/8' piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock before popping it up with Dimensionals. I finished the look with a couple of Pearl Jewels.

Two Cool—I changed the colors up for my second version. This time, I used the Tip Top Taupe gingham from the Succulent Garden DSP, along with the Whisper White ribbon from the coordinating ribbon pack. It's all mounted on a Wisteria Wonder card base.

The flower is stamped in Wisteria Wonder with an Elegant Eggplant center. The greeting is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and it's layered on an Elegant Eggplant mat. Finally, the flower is accented with a Linen Thread bow to match the gingham paper.
