Hi Stamping Friends!
I'm getting SO excited because by this time next week I'll be in sunny Florida visting my parents and getting ready to attend the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference in Orlando from January 29-31! Woohoo!
I love Leadership because I get to see fellow demos and stamping friends from all over the world! Plus, we usually get some big announcements and are able to see lots of fun displays and presentations. Today's project is another one from my upcoming Stamp-of-the-Month Class featuring Balloon Bash. This is a fantastic birthday set because it fits any age and any gender. Not to mention the fact that it's filled with fun & festive images!

Background Basics—I started with a Crushed Curry card base and used colors that matched the Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry.
Balloon Line-Up—I stamped all three Balloon Bash balloon images across my 3" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White at varying heights. The "yay" balloons were stamped a second time on scrap white card stock, then hand-cut them with Paper Snips and popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—The phrase I stamped is part of a larger greeting stamp from the Balloon Bash set, so I used the "omitting" technique to only stamp part of it. The words I wanted were inked with the brush-tip end of a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker, then stamped onto Whisper White. The sentiment is punched with the Decorative Label Punch.
TIP: Make sure the stamp is really clean before omitting words, otherwise you may see a ghosted image of the parts of the stamp you don't want.
Finishing Touches—I added a 1/2" wide strip of Birthday Bash DSP to the bottom of my balloons layer. I also addded a 1/2" x 2-3/4" strip of Calypso Coral, with fish-tailed ends, under the sentiment before popping it up with Dimensionals. A couple of Rhinestone Jewels add sparkle.
Two Cool—My vertical version has the balloons floating up for another fun background pattern. This time, I popped up a couple of the balloons and had them "break out" of the edge of the element layer.
Rather than a banner strip under the greeting, this time I punched a second Decorative Label shape in Calypso Coral, cut the shape in half, and repositioned it along the top and bottom edges of the sentiment.
