I collect bears, so I may be biased, but the Beary Best Friends stamp set is just Too Cute! One of my customers (waves to Lisa!) wanted to make a kids card at her workshop last week, so I pulled out this one I had made for one of my nieces a few months ago. Lisa's daughter and her daughter's friend both love Build-A-Bears (I think they have about 4 gazillion), so I knew they'd enjoy making this card!
Oval Scallop Die & Paper Piecing (not to be confused with Paper Piercing!)
- I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock and a sheet of Melon Mambo checks from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the Oval Scallop Frame Die. TIP: The oval is not the same shape on both ends, so be sure to keep the inside piece and the frame aligned properly as you work.
- Stamp the bear on the oval in Black Classic or Staz-On Ink, leaving enough room to also stamp any accessories you want to add, like the balloon.
- Color your images with Stampin' Write Markers, or use a Blender Pen and ink (make a palette by pushing the lid of your ink pad against the ink before opening). Use the blender like a paint brush to pick up color. The colors go on a little less intense with a blender, which I really like.
- Adhere the oval and frame to your card front (mine layers Pumpkin Pie over Rich Razzleberry).
- Stamp the bear and any accessories you want to highlight on a coordinating piece of decorative paper, then cut those pieces out. I stamped and cut the dress and balloon, then popped them up with Dimensionals foam.
Don't forget that there are also lots of cute accessories in the Beary Best Times stamp set! You can create all sorts of cute little scenes with these images! And they are fun, fun, fun for kids to color, too!
