I enjoyed a much-needed long weekend over the past few days and I'm back with the third class from my Countdown To Christmas holiday class series! This class is a favorite of mine because of the pretty snowflakes and the "Too Cool" color combinations! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Today, I'll be sharing one of the 3 card designs up close!

Beautiful Blizzard Season's Greetings Snowfall Cards
Background Basics—I started by stamping the large wash image from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set in Pool Party ink diagonally across a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I inked the smaller splotch image in Highland Heather, stamped off once and stamped onto the background. I added about three of these splotches of color, slightly overlapping the Pool Party images.
Finally, I stamped the mini snowflakes image in Balmy Blue several times along the same diagonal swath. The layer is adhered to a 5" x 3-3/4" Basic Black cardstock, then mounted onto a Highland Heather card base.
Sweet Sentiment—I added a 4-4/8" x 3/4" strip of Balmy Blue across the lower half of the background to create a base for the greeting. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White. I fishtail cut one end of the strip, then popped it up with Dimensionals, flush to the right edge.
Snowflakes Accents—I finished by die-cutting some Sparkle Glimmer snowflakes using the Blizzard Thinlits die and topping them with Rhinestone Jewels! Oooh, this thinlits die is special!
I love that the Blizzard Thinlit is just one die! With just one die, you get 18 snowflakes in a variety of sizes! All of the cards in this class kit feature snowflakes from this cool die! It also makes a lovely background after the die-cuts are removed. And, when you pair it with Embossing Mats, you can create a beautiful snowflake texture…but, we'll save that for another card!
TIP: When die-cutting with thinlits, I recommend using the Precision Base Plate for clean cuts and easier release of the die-cuts.
Two Cool—I always like to mix it up, so all of the cards in this design have different color card bases. This one features a Balmy Blue card base with a Highland Heather strip across the middle. Otherwise, the stamped elements are the same.
Three Cool—The third card features a Bermuda Bay card base and Highland Heather strip. I replaced the stamped snowflakes with a dotted image in Balmy Blue ink.
Four Cool—The final card has a Pool Party base and a Balmy Blue strip, also with stamped dots in Balmy Blue.
