Beautiful Day Butterfly Work of Art Cards
The big & bold butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set was designed to be used with the cool new Brusho watercolor ink crystals and it's amazing when combined with that watercolor technique. I definitely wanted to feature this pretty image at my 20-Card Kickoff Party, but I knew that we wouldn't have time to play with Brusho at this event. So, I created a super-quick way to use the image without a lot of coloring using the swoosh images from Work of Art! Eeeee! I love how it turned out!
Background Basics—I adhered a 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" layer of Painted With Love Designer Paper onto a Basic Black card base. I wanted to have a pop of bright color contrasting with the background on this card and the Painted With Love pattern was just what I was looking for! The Work of Art "paint" swooshes on the butterfly coordinate PERFECTLY with the "painted" brushstrokes on the DSP! Swoon!
I mounted a 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" strip of Melon Mambo across the middle of the card over the DSP for another pop of color.
Painted Butterfly—I stamped the Beautiful Day butterfly image in Archival Black ink onto a 4" x 3" piece of Whisper White. Then, I stamped the longer Work of Art swoosh in Calypso Coral over the top half of the wings. Finally, I stamped the smaller swatch of color in Melon Mambo ink onto each of the bottom wings. Voilà! Super-fast coloring! I painted some Wink of Stella Clear glimmer onto the inside wings for a little shimmer. Then, I mounted it onto a 4-1/8" x 3-1/8" mat of Basic Black cardstock and popped up the layer with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Picture Perfect Birthday greeting onto a 2-1/2" x 3/8" strip of Powder Pink card stock in Archival Black ink. I fish-tailed the ends into a banner, then popped it up on the butterfly with more Dimensionals. A couple of Rhinestone Jewels completes the look.
Two Cool—This time, I adhered a gold foil Painted With Love DSP pattern onto the black card base and attached a Calypso Coral strip across the front.

Hi, For the Gold embossed butterfly, did you stamp and emboss the butterfly FIRST and then stamp the shapes from Work of Art and tissue off any ink from the embossed raised lines? Thank you, very pretty!
Hi Debbie! I gold embossed the butterfly first, then wiped up the ink residue. Thanks for stopping by!
