Today, I'm sharing two cool swap cards that I received from team members at our monthly team Stamp & Share event last night! Our team event is the highlight of my month because we have such an awesome group of caring & creative ladies! Between my local group, my online team around the country and my fellow demonstrator friends around world, I feel absolutely blessed that I have the opportunity to be part of this Stampin' Up! family! My life has been forever changed and enriched by the friends I've made and the friendships I've seen blossom just by playing with stamps, ink & paper!

Beauty Abounds Shimmery For You Card

Marsha Henry featured the gorgeous Butterfly Beauty Thinlits on her shimmery swap card.

I love the effect that these awesome layered dies create! Each of the butterflies in this set has dies that create two slightly different layers. You can use them alone or together for a variety of layered looks!

Background Basics—Marsha's card begins with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper adhered to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Powder Pink cardstock, then mounted onto a Fresh Fig card base. The Petal Promenade DSP is one of the latest Sale-a-Bration selections that you can choose for FREE with a $50 order thru March 31. It's also good to note that the Powder Pink and Fresh Fig In Colors will be retiring in just a couple of months as the Annual Catalog comes to an end in May.

Beautiful Butterflies—Next, Marsha die-cut the more solid of the two Butterfly Beauty dies in Powder Pink cardstock and the skinnier of the two dies in Fresh Fig cardstock. She layered them together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then used Mini Dimensionals to pop up the butterflies onto the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—Marsha stamped the Beauty Abounds sentiment in Fresh Fig ink onto a scrap of the matching Petal Promenade DSP, then used the Lily Framelits from the Sale-a-Bration Coordination promo to die-cut a sweet label shape. She layered it onto another larger label created from the same dies in Fresh Fig.

Awesome Accents—Before adding the sentiment to the card front, she added some Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon with Glue Dots, then popped up the sentiment over the top. She also added a couple of Artisan Pearls on the label.

Shimmer Spray Finish—Marsha made a dramatic finish on this card by spritzing the entire thing with Champagne Shimmer Paint! Simply fill a Stampin' Spritzer with rubbing alcohol, add a couple of drops of Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint, gently agitate and spray a few times over the card for AMAZING shimmery results! Look closely at the photos and you'll see little specs of shimmer…but you have to see it in real life to fully appreciate it's awesomeness! Beautiful!

Inside The Card—Marsha finished the inside of the card with a Beauty Abounds sentiment and butterfly, both stamped in Fresh Fig.

Beauty Abounds Shimmery Bloom Border Card

Darla Eigenschink used the same Beauty Abounds bundle for her swap card and I love how she used only part of the Butterfly Beauty dies, combined with a pretty stamped border!

Background Basics—Darla die-cut the background Butterfly Beauty large die with Berry Burst cardstock and the top coordinating die-cut layer in Night of Navy. the layers are adhered together and mounted onto a Smoky Slate card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. She used her Paper Snips to carefully trim away the excess die-cuts on the edge of the card.

Beautiful Border—Darla stamped the Beauty Abounds blooms stamp two times down the length of the right side of the card front in Night of Navy ink to create a pretty border.

Shimmery Blooms—My favorite part of Darla's card are the glimmering flowers! She used Wink of Stella as a Blender Pen to brush on Balmy Blue ink to the flowers. To do that, just add a drop of refill ink onto a clear acrylic block to use as a palette, then dip the Wink of Stella brush in the ink and paint! Color off on scrap paper between colors until it runs clear. What a fun effect!

Finishing Touches—She finished by wrapping Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the card front and tying it into a double-knot. Berry Burst is another In Color that will be retiring at the end of this catalog. I'll be so sad to see that color go!
