I have fallen in love with the Beauty Abounds stamp set because of those awesome bokeh dots images. I had so much fun experimenting with different color combinations of these little overlapping bubbles!
Bokeh Background—I started by die-cutting a Whisper White background layer with the largest Rectangle Stitched dies. Next, I stamped a multicolored background:
- I stamped the Beauty Abounds floral flourish stamp in Gray Granite ink, stamped off once first. It's stamped diagonally…once in the top left corner and again in the bottom right corner with the ends of the image overlapping in the center.
- I stamped the larger bokeh dots in Flirty Flamingo ink three times along the flourish line.
- I stamped the same bokeh dots image in Mango Melody several times along the flourish line.
- I finished by stamping the smaller dots in Soft Sea Foam ink in some of the blank areas.
Lovely Layers—I die-cut the middle of the stamped layer with a large square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits, creating a window, and I saved the inside for another project shown below. Next, I adhered a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" square of Flirty Flamingo cardstock onto a Soft Sea Foam card base positioned underneath where that window so that it will show through. I popped up the stamped window layer with LOTS of Dimensionals!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the beginning phrase from Beauty Abounds in Gray Granite onto Whisper White cardstock, then cut it out with a smaller square from Stitched Shapes dies and popped that up, as well.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the cute little Beauty Abounds butterfly in Mango Melody ink onto Whisper White and colored over the top of it with Wink of Stella to blend the color and add glimmer. It's die-cut with the Butterfly Beauty dies and attached with a Glue Dot with the wings slightly bent. I finished by adding a few Soft Sea Foam Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins floating around with the dots.
Card Inside—I added another large Whisper White Rectangle Stitched die-cut on the inside of the card, stamped with the second half of the Beauty Abounds phrase and more bokeh dots accents. I love that finished stitched look around the edge in the inside!
Two Cool—For the second color combination, I tried featured Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana and retiring Lemon Lime Twist.
I layered Coastal Cabana cardstock onto a Blueberry Bushel card base for this recessed frame, along with a Lemon Lime Twist butterfly accent. This time, I added some Lemon Lime Twist flowers from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack.
Three Cool—In my Facebook LIVE video, I tried a third color combination featuring Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron.
The frame background is Balmy Blue, layered onto a Gorgeous Grape card base. The butterfly is in Mint Macaron. I selected the Balmy Blue iridescent flowers from the Gingham Gala sequins for the accents.
Coordinating 3" x 3" Note Cards—I saved the window cut-outs from the cards and created some coordinating note cards with the pretty die-cut that was left behind.
Recessed Frame Details—I die-cut another window with the smallest die from the Rectangle Stitched dies, positioned over the floral flourish overlap. This time, I added a 2" x 2" piece of Soft Sea Foam layer under the window and popped up the bokeh dots layer with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Beauty Abounds word in Gray Granite onto a 1-1/4" x 3/4" piece of Whisper White and popped it up in the center of the window.
Finishing Touches—I added a Mango Melody butterfly accent and Soft Sea Foam sequins to finish the card.
Two Cool Note—I created a note card to match the second card above, too! This one features Lemon Lime Twist recessed layer adhered onto a Blueberry Bushel 3" x 3" note card. The sentiment is once again from Beauty Abounds. I adorned it with a Coastal Cabana butterfly and added Lemon Lime Twist sequins.
I'm totally addicted to creating this recessed frame card in fun color combinations! Which colors would you try next?
