Beauty & Joy For Fall & Christmas
The Beauty & Joy stamp set was kind of a sleeper in the Holiday Catalog, but I've fallen in love with it's sweet seasonal images! Whether it's autumn, spring or the holiday season, you'll find just the right planter that sets just the right tone for a thank you, thinking of you, sympathy or even Christmas card.
Autumn Background Basics—For the fall-themed card, I started with a 4-1/4" x 11" vertically-folded card base in So Saffron. I added a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock across the center for a pop of color.
Next, I texture embossed a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of So Saffron cardstock with the Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder. I tied some Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding around it before mounting it to the card front with a combination of Tear & Tape and SNAIL adhesives.
Fall Focal Point—The Beauty & Joy stamp set is photopolymer, so it's easy to line up the three image that make up the tree. I started by stamping the basket in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White cardstock. Next, I added a Soft Suede tree trunk. For the multicolored leaves, I sponged on Crushed Curry ink onto the stamp with a Sponge Dauber, then sponged on some Pumpkin Pie in some spots. I love the way those leaves turned out.
I die-cut the image with the Stitched Nested Labels dies and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Beauty & Joy sentiment in Soft Suede onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it with the Classic Label Punch. It's also popped up with Dimensionals. I finished by adding some Wink of Stella shimmer to the leaves and basket.
Two Cool—The second card gets the holiday treatment! I started with a vertically-folded Shaded Spruce card base. Next I layered a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Gold Foil. Before mounting the layers onto the card base, I added a strip of the gorgeous Real Red 1" Ruched Ribbon across the middle, securing the ends on the back with Tear & Tape adhesive.
Seasonal Focal Point—This time, I stamped the planter in Sahara Sand ink, added the tree trunk in Soft Suede and stamped the foliage in Shaded Spruce. I also added a little sparkle star on the top with Delicata Gold ink. I finished with some Red Rhinestones for a sparkly, festive look.
Sweet Sentiment—I finished this card by stamping the Beauty & Joy sentiment in Shaded Spruce onto a 1-1/2" x 7/8" piece of Whisper White. I layered it onto some Gold Foil and popped it up. I'm loving all of the pretty shine & sparkle on this one! How about you?
