Apples - v

A bucket of apples is such a fun image for autumn and harvest time!

Background—With Cherry Cobbler card stock as a base, I used a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of holiday-themed Season of Style Designer Series Paper for the color combination (it's not just for Christmas!).

My
4" x 5-1/4" Baked Brown Sugar card stock background was embossed with the Square
Lattice texture, which reminded me of a harvest basket.

Ribbon—I wrapped the textured layer with three strands from the 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon—I LOVE that crinkly thread!  I think the bow looks fabulous!

Greeting—The sentiment is from the Best of Greetings set, stamped in StazOn Black, then colored with a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive ink.  It's punched with the Large Oval Punch.

Watercolored Apples—The image is perfect for a watercoloring technique!  First, I stamped it in StazOn Black ink onto a 1-3/4" x 2" piece of Whisper White.  Then, I used Blender Pens and Classic Ink for coloring: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive (leaves), Smoky Slate and Baked Brown Sugar.

Ink TIP: Squish the pad before opening to transfer ink to the lid, then use that lid as your palette of color to dip your Blender Pen.

Coloring TIPs: I like to cover each element in a very light color, then add in darker shading on the edges as a second layer of color.  OR, you can start your color in a "shaded" area of an element, then pull and feather the ink to the "brighter" side of the element without re-inking your Blender.

Don't try to blend too much, unless you're using watercolor paper, because your card stock will start to pill.

Pierced Frame—I added a 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock under the focal point and added pierced detailing with the help of my Essentials Piercing Template.

Although I love the bow from the first card, the second card's strands of burlap kind of remind me of straw!  I adore it either way!
